In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
All praise is due to Allah, who said what means: “The masaajid of Allah shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish as-Salaah, and give az-Zakaah, and fear none but Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance.” [9:18]
May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Messenger, who is reported to have said: “Whosoever builds a masjid for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise.” [agreed upon]
Also he (sallAllahu alayhi wa sallam) said what means: “Whosoever builds a masjid for Allah, even if it be as small as a nest (of a bird or a chicken), Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” [reported by Ahmed]
The masaajid are the houses of Allah. In them He alone is worshiped, and in them His name is mentioned. His visitors (in these houses) are those who establish them. They are the best places on earth, lighthouses of guidance, and signposts of the religion. Just as they are the places of Allah’s remembrance and the places of His worship, they are also beacons for teaching the beneficial knowledge, acting upon it, and learning the principles of the religion. In fact, masaajid are the very first institutions of Islam from which the rays of knowledge and understanding have shined.
All the aforementioned are outcomes of such Houses, which were established for the ascension of Allah’s remembrance and to be adorned with the fear of Allah and His worship. Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala) said what means: “In houses (masaajid), which Allah has ordered to be raised (to be cleaned, and to be honored), in them His Name is glorified in the mornings and in the afternoons or the evenings, Men whom neither trade nor sale diverts them from the Remembrance of Allah (with heart and tongue), nor from establishing as-Salaah, nor from giving the az-Zakaah. They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will be overturned (from the horror of the torment of the Day of Resurrection).” [24:36-37].
As many of the masaajid are not fulfilling their legislated obligation, we have decided to establish a complete Islamic center in Detroit, Michigan and name it Abu-Bakr As-Siddeeq Islamic Center. We have named it after the best of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) because Allah has obligated us to follow them, be upon their guidance, and remain steadfast upon their way.
From the objectives of this center is the following:
1) Establishing the five daily prayers.
2) Establishing daily classes (in Aqeedah, Fiqh, Hadeeth, Arabic, etc.) as well as weekly lectures and intensive seminars.
3) Calling to Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aalah) upon knowledge with its correct understanding, while also rejecting its incorrect understanding.
4) Protecting the youth from being lost and going astray in both religious and social concepts.
5) Calling non-Muslims to Islam with the various beneficial means.
6) Establishing a Quran memorization institute devoted to correct recitation and mastery.
7) Establishing Quran circles (for adults) teaching recitation and Tafseer (explanation).
We ask Allah (alone) to guide us to that which He loves and is pleased with, and to make our actions sincere for His Noble Face. Oh Allah, accept from us, for indeed You are the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. Verily, I want nothing other than rectification to the best of my ability, and my success is with none but Allah, on whom I depend, and to whom I repent.
