Rafi the owner is the nicest guy on the planet. Everyone is so respectful at the store. Rafi has done great remodeling recently, and the store looks fantastic. Every product is fresh, and basically you can find everything you need to prepare Persian, Afghan, Turkish and Arab foods. All different types of sweet and cakes and whatever your missing from your homeland, you can find it here. I'm from Iran, and I have couple of trips every week to Afghan Market. As I step in, I feel like I'm at home. Hospitality of the staff, and quality of the merchandise is above and beyond. Very reasonable prices are another great feature of Afghan market. Afghan Market is highly recommended.
Extremely rude and disrespectful, higher prices, and expired items. They will treat you like they are your customers. As a cybersecurity engineer, I know that most of these positive reviews are fake—some done by themselves and some by their relatives. Avoid this store; instead, go to Fair Price Supermarket or Halalco.
Today, I went there for shopping. I also wanted to buy a pressure cooker, but their most items do not have price tags so I asked about its price it was way higher than on eBay. The owner said, “It is on sale, and you cannot find it anywhere else for a lower price.” I told him it is available on eBay, which is $40 cheaper than your price. He rudely responded, "Bring it to me; I will buy it." I was in rush, I said, "Okay, just scan my items so I can go." I didn’t want to prolong the conversation with such a person. Then, I ordered from eBay.
I think the reason he acted like that is that they believe we are new to this country and don’t know anything, even if we have higher education, better jobs, or higher incomes than them. Their prices are extremely high compared to Fair Price Supermarket and Halalco. Halalco is the best store in the DMV area; they have fresh meat and groceries at very low prices compared to any grocery store in the DMV area.
"I usually go to this place to buy various items because I really like supporting Afghan businesses for their growth. Their prices are a bit expensive, but I accept it. Today, while buying onions, I noticed that all the packets were in poor condition and unusable. When I suggested this to the front desk, an older person responded rudely instead of appreciating the feedback. It made me really sad.
This was a nice store. Staff was very friendly and helped me find the item I was there to purchase. Very organized. I would definitely recommend this place.
