2 years agoAfter being diagnosed as having multiple myeloma, spinal scoliosis and stenosis, a brain AVM, diabetes, and arthritis I decided to retire. My doctor (Syed Mamhood) is professional, smart, patient, and caring. We've got a good relationship. Now that I'm retired, I've decide to relocate to Florida for a plethora of reasons. However, I'm concerned that I will not find a doctor of the quality or of equal capacity as Dr. Mamhood. The nursing staff is good and caring. I've never experienced any problems with the administrative staff. The Billing department staff has been patient and willing to thoroughly explain all charges. The front desk staff turns over frequently. Unfortunately, one must deal with them before receiving care.

5 years agoThe doctors, nurses, and support staff are excellent, but patient services are in a nonstop decline since Shady Grove Adventist bought a controlling interest in the practice, formerly Associates in Oncology Hematology, now Maryland Oncology Hematology. Nothing works properly now that they were forced to change to a presumably less expensive IT system as part of the deal. The new patient portal is awful; you can't see your scan results on it, among other limitations. Online bill payment no longer works. The phone system is a joke--you can no longer reach anyone. They send bloodwork to what must be a cheaper lab which, unlike LabCorp, does not apprise you when your results are available or have a working online payment system. In short, if stress extends a cancer patient's life expectancy, this is a great practice....It's clear the sellout has been bad for the staff, too; people disappeared in droves, either from dissatisfaction or from the shareholders cutting staff to boost profits. I must find a new clinic.

7 years agoThe Aquilino Cancer Center is an incredibly caring and efficiently-run center. With the latest in technologies to help healing, I was glad that Dr. Wallmark was there at the time I received my dreaded diagnosis. From my 1st app't to my now finished treatments and re-building strength after chemo, Aquilino has the best options for survival in the area. They have a full calendar of events to help patients, such as integrative medicine (nutrition, excercises, education, support groups, clinical trials, etc). The infusion room is efficiently organized and runs like a well-oiled machine. I can't imagine my survival rate being any higher than the 2nd chance at life they have all given me. I give them 5 stars!

4 years agoStaff here are fantastic and Dr. Mahmood is the best. He says it like it is but in the gentlest, most caring way possible. He patiently and thoroughly answers all questions. Even though he gave us the worst news possible he is still one of my top 3 favorite doctors ever.
