I have generally had a positive impression of Dr. Abourahma and his team. However, I recently experienced a situation that has left me feeling quite frustrated. During my initial visit, Dr. Abourahma listened to my concerns and recommended a full blood test, which I promptly completed on the same day. When the results became available on the patient portal, I noticed that several values were outside the normal range, so I anticipated a follow-up call from the doctorโs office. Unfortunately, no one reached out.
A month later, I called to request that a message be left for Dr. Abourahma, asking if he could review and discuss my results. I was disappointed that I didnโt receive any response. Today, when I called to schedule an appointment, I was told by the receptionist that the next available date was December 5โmore than a month away. I then asked why no one had contacted me about my results, and she replied that it was my responsibility to follow up.
I was taken aback by this response, as my experience with other doctors has been different; I expected a call from the office with guidance on my next steps. When I explained that I had called a month ago without receiving any follow-up, she said there was no record of my previous call. As I expressed my concerns about their system, she began interrupting and raising her voice.
This time, I made sure to take her name and requested that the doctor personally follow up with me regarding my results. I appreciate Dr. Abourahmaโs expertise, but this experience has highlighted issues in communication and patient follow-up that I hope can be addressed
As a visiting student under Dr. Abourahma, I had an exceptional learning experience. His expertise in cardiology is unparalleled, and he is incredibly patient and thorough in his care. Dr. Abourahma's dedication to his patients and his willingness to share his knowledge made my rotation invaluable. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking top-notch cardiological care.
Love his personality, but even more he knows Cardiology inside and out. I am a cardiac RN, and every surgical procedures had uneventful and positive outcomes. I trust him with my heart .
I respect him immensely.
