a month agoI had my liver transplant almost 2 years ago. Dr Koteish is the most amazing Dr ever. He always explained everything to me and made me feel so comfortable. No one can compare to him. I'm not happy that i don't get to see him anymore...

a year agoI saw Dr. Koteish years ago before he left Hopkins. He is knowledgeable, but needs to work on his bedside manner. He walked out of the exam room and left the door open when I was in my mid twenties, early post transplant and crying out of frustration. I spent most of the appointment explaining my issues and feelings at the time and he just talked over me, disregarded everything I said and then completely gave up and walked out. Who walks out on a patient who is visibly upset?! Needless to say, I was not a fan and have not missed him since he left. Though, I do hope he has found some compassion by this point.

2 years agoAbsolutely no problems with Dr. Koteish himself. Seems like a very good Dr. and good personal skills. However, VERY dissapointed in the overall service of this medical center. Family member is extremely sick in need of a liver transplant. It is almost impossible to get appts and get in to see Dr. Koteish. We have called this office probably 100 times and almost never get a call back. Dr. Koteish said he needed to see the family member "no matter what" in 2 weeks. When trying to get an appt, the office always states there are no appointments available. He is apparently a liver transplant candidate, but have been given no direction on what is actually needed (a specifid list of items to complete) and planned follow-up. He has been acutely ill multiple times and only response is "go to the ER". Again, feel very confident in Dr. Koteish skills. However, if you or a family member truly need care or in need of a transplant, our experience with "the office" has been dismal... to put it nicely.

2 years agoI have no idea how this Dr. got 5 stars! He was very sarcastic and condescending! he should have more compassion when explaining results to and elderly person. This could be him someday or one of his loved ones and he would want them to be treated with kindness and compassion also. He needs to take a course on how to treat/speak with patients because i was disgusted on how he treated my dad!! Yes it can be frustrating but you have to understand that we are the patient and medical term/explanations might need to be broken down more!
