Bethlehem Restaurant & Grocery

Stopped by this restaurant during our commute through the area and boy oh boy it was the best decision. One of the few halal options in the area and very legit Afghan/Mediterranean menu. We ordered their Kabuli pulao with lamb shank and shawarma. The lamb shank was tender and on the spot. Shawarma tasted good as well. The guy behind the counter is friendly and helps you select the best one.

I got the falafel platter & green tea. Falafels had lots of flavor. I will definitely be returning when in the area to try another plate. The ladies working were so sweet & helpful. Didn’t get anything on the grocery side but they seem to have a good selection of items.

Just the best Middle Esstern food I’ve had in Roanoke. Warm, helpful owners who are a complete joy. Please give it a try. You won be sorry.

Ordered chopaan kabab, chicken biryani and veggie samosas for delivery. Chicken biryani was great, kabab was a bit over cooked and dry. The samosas were an undercooked oily mess and completely inedible. (See picture) I would not trust this establishment with any fried food.

Wonderful atmosphere! the food was really good! I got a gyro and it was cooked to perfection, one of the best I've ever had! the grocery has a great selection of interesting food, fun to browse while you wait for your food to cook. great place and friendly people! don't pass this little restaurant up!
