In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
[Verily] all praise is for Allah; we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own souls [and from our bad deeds]. Whomsoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allah leaves astray, no one can guide. We bear witness that there is no god but Allah [alone and without any partner], and We bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Dar Al Salam Islamic Center (DAIC) is established on the principles ofย ย Ahlus-Sunnah wa Jamaโah.ย Their principles are based on the idea of referring all matters of religion, theoretical and practical, toย the Quranย ( The book of Allah )ย and the Sunnahย ( The teachings, traditions and path of the Messenger Muhammed, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)ย upon the understanding of the righteous early generations,ย namely the Sahaabah and Taabiโen, and those who followed them in righteousness.ย Abdullah ibn Masโud (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, โThe best people are those of my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them.โ (Bukhari and Muslim)
Along with venerating the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the way of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, DAIC is dedicated to applying and teaching the following principles: loving those who follow the Sunnah;ย avoiding bidโah and innovations in the religion of Allah, both theoretical and practical, and condemning those who follow them; and striving to cleanse peopleโs thoughts and actions of these innovations and to bring them back to the way of life of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his companions, following his guidance and the true religion.
Our History
The journey of the establishment of Dar Al Salam Islamic Center (DAIC) began in December 2005. The goal was to establish a mosque in the city of Dearborn Heights, MI that would operate upon the noble Islamic principles of Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jamaโah. The Board of Trustees searched diligently for an adequate building for this mosque, and lack of sufficient funds called for an adjustment of plans. In November 2009, members of the community decided to rent a space in a shopping plaza in Garden City. For the next five year, this space would serve as a musallah for the community. In June 2014, the Board of Trustees felt a strong need for establishing a full-fledged mosque, and so they began the search for an appropriate building and location. They identified a very suitable and appropriate sized building in the city of Westland. During Ramadan of that year, a fundraising Iftar was organized. All praise is due to Allah, the fundraising was successful and the building was purchased under a land contract. After a couple of months of renovation, the new mosque opened its doors on December 1, 2014. The building costs have since been paid off, and several new renovations have been completed. Among them was a complete rebuilding of the bathrooms for men and women, external brick lining of the building, brand new HVAC units, new high efficiency windows, and a 100% coverage security camera system. Today, the Dar Al Salam Islamic Center (DAIC) establishes the five daily prayers, theย Friday prayers, and the two Eid prayers.

9 months agoA masjid upon the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet, friendly board members, friendly community and a well qualified Imam with beautiful recitation. Also, very considerate with their time on Jummah Khutbas for those who are tight on time. The Khutba by the Imam is brief and meaningful. No more than 15-20 minutes, which is upon Sunnah for Jummah. Alhamdullilah, a true blessing to have such a masjid here.

4 years agoNeat and clean Masjid. The Friday khutbah was timely and content appropriate to the current situation. Parking area is limited, better to come early for Friday congregations. Masjid is open for all 5 prayers. The Masjid is only open close to prayer times, so don't get there too early; I've had to wait a few times.
