2 weeks agoFirst, you need to upgrade your Security. ER was FULL. But there were homeless people walking right in. Going to the ER hall. Grabbing blankets and hopping on gurneys. Made my friend VERY NERVOUS. People walking by looking at him. He clutched his bag with a phone and wallet. 18 hours in ER? Care was lax. Had COVID but no one who came in his room wore a mask. Washed their hands in or out.He said the water had a nasty taste to it. He was so concerned about the cleanliness he refused to eat anything. Figured the lack of cleanliness would also mean the food and dishes. NEVER had a friend or family member gone without eating because of the questionable service and cleanliness of a hospital. We took food in when possible. Had to. Housekeeping did not go in his room until the 7 th day. Only AFTER a lady came in and asked when his room had been cleaned. He truthfully said they never had! Personal care/ clean up was ridiculous. Especially when they basically gave him a spit bath. How on Earth can such a noted place have so many lazy and incompetent people collecting paychecks? Others were complaining too. Said THEY would never go back to Henry Ford. EVER. Would go to Beaumont. How this place passes inspection is beyond me. Shameful. Security is a joke. Many other areas are the same. Lazy and useless potential retirees.

2 weeks agoThe ladies at the front desk were talking loud about non-sense. They had condescending attitudes. We understand you only allow one person to be with the patient at a time. I dont need you to stair at me my entire visit. Being in the emergency room with your loved one is stressful enough , there is no need to add to the stress. On the upside, the person who checked us in was good.

a week agoIโm not sure if Chris the physician assistant in the ER on Friday the 25th (with the interesting mustache) will ever read this or even if his higher ups will read this. Chris, your job as a physician at the very LEAST is to listen to your patients. Your job isnโt to be argumentative, dismissive, accusatory and practice with your own personal grievances. If thatโs how you choose to practice then please find another field of work, the medical field needs less of arrogant and uncaring people like you. My sister came in with a medical emergency. She knew something was wrong with HER body. She knew that despite the โtestsโ saying everything was fine, that she was in fact not fine. Now I wonโt type out exactly what you said to her but it was very inappropriate, uncalled for and unprofessional. She didnโt need you to mansplain the female body or how pregnancy works because she has been pregnant and has given birth more times than you have. What she needed was for the physician tasked with her care, to listen to her. I had to beg and then demand for someone to give her medical attention. That is unacceptable. You were recommending to send her home because there was nothing you could do, while I recommended her to wait for a while just in case, which Iโm glad I did because she ended up having an emergency procedure. Chris, do better. Henry Ford hospital, do not employ people who refuse to listen to their patients. People like Chris discourage people, especially black and other people of color, from seeking medical care and this costs many their lives. But my sister had ME beside her that day, saying NO. You will not disregard her life or her as a person. I hope you read this and going forward you choose to practice with care, empathy and humanity. Friday, the way you practiced medicine, was everything but and you should be ashamed of yourself. The hospital which employs you, should be ashamed of themselves as well.

a month agoI was taken in immediately based on my symptoms, which i really appreciated. I was given prompt attention for my medical problems. However , my arm is still black and blue from the inept student nurses who were trying to put in an IV line in my veins. A nurse tried twice with no results. Two student nurses came in with an ultrasound machine and for an excruciating painful half hour tried to. Insert an IV line. After the fifth try a line was inserted. This is unacceptable every hospital has nurses who are experienced in dealing with patients who have poor veins. I should have had one of those nurses sent to me. In my experience the ultrasound machines only work when you have an experienced nurse using it. This should have never happened and in the future no one should be put through the painful ordeal.

2 weeks agoI was in the emergency room for stomach pain. The nurse didnโt know what she was doing. She was trying to take my blood and and I got more pain instead. They kept poking me to find a vein and it was so painful. They ended up giving me me all these bruises I shared in the pictures. This nurse need more training. I honestly had a really bad experience and both my arms are still in so much pain.
