Don't believe all the hype. I was just a number that did not receive any kind of special care. They make it seem like you are the chosen one and that they can solve riddles that nobody else can. I provided recent test results prior to my visit which were not reviewed, and I was required to take them again at Mayo. I had an additional test done that was not covered by insurance and cost $3K out of pocket. All tests were done before I even spoke to a doctor. $600 zoom meeting which I felt that I was diagnosing myself. I was communicating with them trying to get support for the tests to provide to insurance and they just turned the $6K bill over to collections. I received nothing from Mayo except a headache and a hole in my pocket. I should have stayed in Iowa for the best doctors and care. There is nothing special about Mayo in Rochester MN. Go to Iowa City.

The best healthcare hospital in the world. I'm impressed and grateful every time I visit. It is moving when guests and/or patients sit down at the piano. Check out this display where they honor the pioneer women of the Mayo family.

This place is great , went there to redo a surgery I had twice before and it wasn't done correct so paid alot for nothing Went to these guys to fix it had to wait over a year to get in had 3 surgery's scheduled had 2 of the 3 and was forced to cancel last one . 90 days after the 1st initial appointment which was over 1500 dollars they sent it to collections tried setting up a pay arrangement but would only take 10 % of total owed as payment so in my care 780 per month maybe it's just me but I could not commit to such high payment , its dang shame that hospitals are so harsh on payment they should be here to help not financially kick you while your down Dr.Christian Baum is the best of the best was really looking forward to getting this behind me and being back to a normal routine .. Very disappointed how this played out !

When u have a serious chronic illness and every choice is a choice for your life. Mayo is where you want to be. I fly across the country twice a year to see the best doctor in the field of my illness. Worth every penny to get the most life I can
