2 weeks agoI was a patient of doctor Sova quite a few years ago. He took care of me when I was pregnant with my daughter. I've been living in Louisiana for ten years and am planning to move back to the GR area. I plan to call there to see if they'll take me back as a patient. He always took good care of me. I'd heard about his legal troubles and it never changed my opinion of him

6 years agoDr. Sova is nice, and we chose the practice because he doesn't mandate the typical vaccination schedule (not anti-vax, just lets you choose timetable). However, his office has cancelled on me within 1 hour of my child's appointment 3 times in 3 years (they have a policy if you cancel within 24 hrs you 'owe' them $25, but they won't credit you when it's their fault). The office staff (especially manager Deb) is so rude about it, like your time isn't worth anything and they can brush you off anytime without consequence. I'm in the process of finding another more reliable Pediatrician's office currently.

2 years agoI have been seeing Dr. David Sova for years and everything was great until recently when nobody was answering the phones for months. I had to find another doctor at the last minute for a med refill. I sent an email awhile ago and just received a response today letting me know that he is back in the office but is not prescribing any controlled medications. It was real nice to let your patient's know that they need to find another doctor. I learned that he was prescribing a patient oxycodone and Norco to a patient of his, but this patient never received the medication. He was filling these meds for his own use and got caught up by the DEA and closed his office temporarily, but now is back in the office months later with no explanation to any of his patients.

a year agoDr. S was a nice guy, but I would be leery in becoming a patient of his. There is a huge communication issue in not being able to discuss concerns after hours, & staff not returning phone calls-for us it was a big deal due to life threatening health issues with our daughter that had been dismissed as a cold. The office seemed significantly understaffed & was beat up & outdated.

7 years agoI took my kids to Dr. Sova, because my brother and sister-in-law raved about how amazing he was! His office is just over an hour from us, so I was a bit hesitant, but I'm so glad we went! Dr. Sova is one of a kind and I'm so happy we came in to visit! He really takes his time with you and cares about what you have to say! He's fantastic with the kids, which is really important to me. I love that he listens and answers any questions I have, and he does so in a manner that really shows he cares - he's not just trying to rush you in and out. I am respectful of a Dr's schedule (I know they are very busy people), but it's nice to have someone really listen to you and your concerns and help in anyway they can.
