Dr. Hoda Abdel Salam, MD is an internist in New Britain, CT. She is affiliated with The Hospital of Central Connecticut at New Britain General Campus. She is accepting new patients and telehealth appointments.
I just switched to Dr Salam after a bad experience with my previous doctor and I'm glad I did! She's incredibly attentive and thorough, and has a fantastic energy going that makes the entire experience even better. I got everything I needed from my first appointment with Dr Salam, my expectations were all met and exceeded, and I will be recommending her to others.
EDIT: Iโve been notified sheโs moving into the field of Palliative/End of Life Care recently. While Iโm really going to miss her, I know that sheโs going to treat her future patients in this new practice with the dignity, sensitivity and respect that they deserve and need and I wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors! Sheโs truly the best doctor Iโve ever had.
Inefficient front desk support staff that really require more training. Could not update my patient record to reflect my current legal name, even after providing both my updated insurance card and photo ID. Took them 30 minutes to try and update, and they still couldn't figure it out. I was asked to self pay and then deal with my insurance company for reimbursement... Why would I do, what should be this office's job? But, I needed to be seen, so I was willing to go through the hassle.
After all was said and done, they were never able to update my record, and to add insult to injury, I was told that I would have to reschedule if I wanted to be seen because the doctor was already seeing her next patient. Mind you I arrived 10 minutes before my appt time, and it was because of their incompetence that I could not been seen by the doctor!
Horrible service, no wonder this office has gone from 5 stars to 3. Not a surprise!
Doctor is good, you just can't get to her. When you call, no one ever picks up, I call on a Monday and leave a message and get a call back from staff on Friday stating they didn't understand what the other doctor wanted me to have for treatment. It is always this way, usually they call back in two days, but now it is worse and for that I've already found an new PC.
I don't regret switching to her as my primary care physician, she's very attentive awnsers your questions thoroughly and takes her time. Very easy to talk and she allows you to be involved in your care.
I switched to her in 2019 but when I went back in 2020, it was NOT the same doctor. Absolutely careless & rushed my appointment. Did not listen/hear my concerns. She even argued on the phone w me when I mentioned being upset about these things. THIS IS OUR HEALTH!!!! DO NOT GO TO HER
