3 months agoFor me, this is the best hospital here in Worcester. They got the best Services. The best specialist surgeons and as well good doctors. This hospital keeps growing and expanding what else I could say and if I could say everything there will be a long description of this amazing hospital. Even that emergency rooms are amazing. I've been a patient with this hospital for many, many years and they always treat me with the best respect, kindness and care that any patient could receive. If I could give it more than five stars I would

a month agoDo not go here; if I could give negative stars I would. This isnโt a hospital, itโs a place people go to die while they attempt to gain treatment that the administration and doctors are too inadequate to provide. Itโs unacceptable to wait from 1:00 pm to 9:30 am the next day to see a doctor for the issue you came in for (mind you, we still havenโt currently seen them). They donโt have a room, they say they have a room and put you in the hallway, they say they will do something and it takes 4 hours (like ordering a CPAP while in the ED, cause despite being doctors they didnโt know you have to put an order in), they say they will discharge you and then change their minds at 2:00 am, and they wonโt let you sleep cause random people keep coming in and poking you and saying things that completely contradict each other. No one communicates. We went around in circles with 10 different surgeons over 14 hours, none of which specialize in the area of the wound, all saying different possibilities, then saying they ruled something out, and then different people coming in saying they havenโt ruled it out. No medication. As we sat there, the entire wound got worse, but they refused to call the people necessary to help cause they said they would be in eventually. We entered the hospital at 1:00 pm Monday and itโs 9:30 am Tuesday and we still havenโt seen who we need to see or had any medication prescribed. Unacceptable. This exempts the nurses who are the only people that deeply care about the patients and did as much as they could to help.

a month agoKelly the ginger nurse in the ER is the most unprofessional nurse Iโve ever met. My sister went to the ER for severe abdominal and back pain, suspected to be a kidney issue or an appendix issue. Kelly told my teenage sister that she will have to wait hours to get a CT scan because โshe isnโt having a heart attackโ. My sister then asked Kelly if the IV infusion was going to take a long time, because she was there for 7 hours without getting any answers and simply wanted to go home (mind you they took 5 hours to even give her an IV), and Kelly stated โYep it will take a while. Why? Do you have anywhere better to be?โ. Lastly, Kelly told my sister she was on the bottom of the list to be taken care of, and that she should be grateful she isnโt at the top of the list because โsheโd be super sickโ . yes i understand the priorities and other people are in worse conditions, however, you donโt tell a teenage patient theyโre at the BOTTOM of a priority list. ALL PATIENTS SHOULD BE TREATED THE SAME. PERIOD. Kelly is the most unprofessional nurse Iโve ever met, and did absolutely nothing to care for my younger sister!

a week agoNothing but a big business money hungry empire that treats patients like inmates. I lost my secondary health insurance (covers copays)coverage for one day because of stolen identity and was thrown out of scheduled transplant appointment, while nurse was wondering why my blood pressure was super high, as if I was a piece of trash by Transplant Social Worker!๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ I was not given an option to pay or be billed, they simply threw me out and told me I had to leave! Oh but they WELCOMED me back as soon as they saw my insurance was reinstated. COST OVER CARE AND PROFIT OVER PEOPLE!

2 months agoEvery experience we have had with UMass Medical has been exceptional. We have dealt with the ICU neonatal unit, cancer center, neurology, cardiac and rheumatology departments and each experience has left us confident in our doctors and grateful for their attention to our needs. Today, I experienced the radiology department and was once again more than pleased with their professionalism and their humanism. I would like to especially thank Bryce ( sorry do not remember last name) for his genuinely kind care and attention not to mention his sense of humor. Thank you UMass.
