Unfortunately I had to go and visit the ER for an illness last Thursday and I have to say it was an excellent experience start to finish. The staff was nothing short of superior from my first desk check in all the way to time to be discharged. Everyone i encountered was respectful, caring, and compassionate the whole time. I can't say I want to get sick and visit again but when I need them in the future I know I am going to be well cared for. Thank you everyone at the VA!

Hospice wing, I wish I could give more stars. My dad passed away only days after being put on hospice care there at the hospital. I live in Texas and got to the hospital as quickly as possible. The staff was amazing, so caring and one nurse told me her story of how she had recently lost her dad. The morning my dad passed away, I was able to sit in a private area outside of his room and was offered everything from something to eat/drink to a hug. The staff really made me feel cared about during this horrible time. One nurse made it a point to hug me every time she walked by. I never felt rushed to leave and they even did a beautiful service with a heartfelt message while I was there, before we left. I was given several business cards and told to call if I needed anything. I was directed downstairs to a caseworker to get some information that I needed. At first she did not seem super friendly but quickly showed that she was sorry for my loss. I am glad that my dad's final moments were around such a caring staff and I am comforted in knowing that he was given everything he needed. It has been 3 months since he passed away and I received a call from someone at the VA today, wanting to check on me and see how I am doing. That meant a LOT to me! I have heard really bad things about other VA hospitals but Cleveland was truly amazing!

I brought my dad here for a cardiovascular surgery consult. He has several blood clots in his veins and his femoral artery is completely blocked off. We drove an hour and a half and waited 2-3 weeks to get this appointment. The lady at the information desk was extremely rude to my father when we arrived. Then the woman at the cardiovascular desk on the second floor purposefully marked my dad as a no-show instead of checking him in. For over two hours we waited in the waiting room. Every time my dad would go ask why it was taking so long she said they were backed up. We realized something was wrong when we saw nurses and other staff leaving with their coats on. Then she acted all confused like it was some mistake. She is a liar and needs to be fired. A nurse ended up coming out and apologizing for what the receptionist did. She needs to be fired immediately. This is a life or death situation and this was no accident. I even heard the woman who made this mistake and her colleague receptionist in the window next to her making rude comments about my toddler. I am asking for something to be done about this because this behavior from these people is unacceptable.

Had a great experience in the ER and also an intensive care at the VA medical center. The nurs es on that floor that I had Melissa, Jessica, Kate and Christina we're all fantastic. I would recommend any veteran who needs care to come there.

My review: I am expressing my deep concern and disappointment regarding the excessive wait time that is consistently experienced during most of our (hubby and I) VA emergency room visits at the CLEVELAND VA. On 7/13, my hubby arrived at the emergency room seeking urgent medical attention and was subjected to an unreasonably long wait before receiving any care and had to remind them about pain medicine. The wait time endured far exceeded what I believe to be acceptable for an emergency medical facility. Despite the urgency of his situation and the severity of his symptoms, he was left waiting for 6 hours without receiving any updates or explanations for the delay. This prolonged wait not only caused him significant distress and discomfort but also raised serious doubts about the quality and efficiency of the emergency services provided at your hospital for veterans. As a patient in need of urgent medical care, it is expected to receive prompt and timely attention from the emergency room staff. However, the extended wait time experienced not only compromised my well-being but also left me feeling neglected and uncared for during a critical moment of need. I understand that emergency rooms can be busy and that triage protocols are in place to prioritize patients based on the severity of their condition. However, the extended wait time endured was unacceptable and fell short of the standard of care that expected to receive from a reputable medical institution. I urge you to investigate the circumstances that led to the excessive wait time experienced and to take immediate steps to address any systemic issues that may be contributing to such delays in the emergency room. Patients seeking urgent medical care should not have to endure prolonged wait times that jeopardize their health and well-being. I question if the surveys being sent out are being reviewed. I trust that my concerns will be addressed seriously and that the service will work to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of the emergency services provided at your hospital. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to a prompt and satisfactory resolution to my complaint. Sincerely, Veteran Tenika Lamb P.S. When the doctor came in, he was kind, patient, and very informative.
