Dr. May Azem (Al-Azem) MD

Dr. Azem is 100% worth the wait. My former Rheumatologist retired in Feb 2024. A friend referred me to Dr. Azem and told me I just HAD to see this doctor, she would take good care of me. My appointment was scheduled for March 2025. I was on a wait list, and got so excited when they called and offered me an appointment today because I NEED a Rheumatologist for my conditions. So, even when you schedule your appointment and it's 8+Mos out, get on the wait list, because they DO call. Dr. Azem not only was patient with me, but she explained things in ways that I understand. She took time with me, and She wants to work with me to get better. She educated me on my diet and how there was things I was doing that were increasing my inflammation and then she addressed the concerns I have. It's not often when you see a doctor, who not only TREATS and helps figure out her patients conditions to improve their lives, but also LIVES with the same conditions too, so she understands what we go through as patients, because she lives it. I cannot reccomend this office more highly. EDS Friendly Rheumatologist who takes a whole body whole system approach!

Dr Azem and Joana are amazing. They take their time with you, help you things beyond prescription medicine such as diet and supplements, and really care about who they see. It's not just take get a script and go home, they help you understand how different diets can affect your body. It takes time to get an appointment if you are a new patient but it is definitely worth it.

Dr. Azem is an exceptional provider. Dr. Azem, the physician assistant, her staff are so knowledgeable and kind. You can truly tell they put the patients first and genuinely care. After nearly 20 years I finally have relief and felt that she really listened to all my symptoms, figured out the diagnosis that other providers I saw couldn’t and herself and staff worked so hard to get the correct medication covered under my insurance. I would one-hundred percent recommend her office to anyone with a possible rheumatological issue. Each and every visit I have had I never feel rushed, I feel heard, and I have felt I have received the best care. It’s not often you come across a provider so passionate about their field of medicine and I truly appreciate her hard work and hours she puts into her research.

Finding Dr.Azem was a Godsent and I'm being deadly serious. I was trying to find a solution the the intense pain i felt in both knees and in my neck.I always try to find solutions before i see a doctor, so started taking just about every type of OTC pills you can think of ie Tylenol, Aleve, Advil etc. After a week without hardly any relief, i went to my PCP who recommended a pain specialist. Ok makes sense..She gave me a script for Naproxen.Not much help. So far neither Doctor suggested Xrays of any kind.Decided on my own to go to Precision Orthopedics in Chardon. Dr. Delvehicco took xrays and confirmed Osteoarthritis in both knees, and neck. Gave me a shot in both knees and set up Physical Therapy sessions..After several sessions did nothing same as shot.Went on Nextdoor and got a ton of recommendations and spent the next 2 months trying most out..Only products that gave me 3-4 hours of relief a day was Voltaren and Marijuna Cream. So for 2 months i used the creams waking up in middle of night and reapplying. Not only repetitive but it affected my disposition among other stuff..I was ready to go on the street and buy Vicotin, Percocet ANYTHING to relief the pain.Telling everybody that would listen a friend suggested Dr.Azem..Thought what is there to lose. She will be my 4th Doctor!...After examing me throughly she prescribed Prednisone..No one had even mentioned that name..I will be eternally gratefull to Dr.Azem who has literally changed my life. She is truly a Special person who sincerely cared and listened to my 3 months of a painful Odyssey and found a solution to the worse pain i have ever felt.I am continuing working with Dr.AZEM.

Dr. Azem is refreshing in a world where everyone always seems to be in a hurry. She takes her time when treating her patients. She asks the right questions in order to better treat you. I learned more about my condition and what I could do to help myself in my first meeting with her. More information than I had received from my previous doctor through the eight years in his care. She listens and is very informative about the latest advancements that may help. Her office staff is amazing as well. Very friendly and helpful.
