Dr. Mohamed Shahed, MD is an internist in Fairview Park, OH. He is affiliated with medical facilities such as Fairview Hospital and Cleveland Clinic. He is accepting new patients and telehealth appointments.
Iโve been a patient of Dr. Shahed for a few years, but recently the practice seems to have shifted focus from patient care to running more like a business. While Dr. Shahed is articulate and knowledgeable during appointments, thereโs a troubling disconnect between whatโs discussed with him and the actions taken afterward. The doctor recommends using the online portal for follow-up communication, which works well in terms of response speed. However, the responses often contradict what Dr. Shahed says in person. When I brought this up, I was told the doctor would never suggest what had been written in the messages. This either means someone is making decisions without his approval, or the communication breakdown is on the doctorโs endโboth of which are concerning.
The wait times for appointments are also unacceptable. Every visit involves at least a 45-minute wait to get into a room, followed by nearly an hour more waiting to see the doctor for a rushed 5-minute consultation. If my appointment is at 10 AM, I shouldnโt have to wait until 11:45 to be seen. Itโs frustrating that my time doesnโt seem to be valued, especially when appointments cost over $200. I can get quicker service at the BMV, which is absurd.
Another major issue is the wait time to even get an appointmentโoften 2 months or more. This is particularly concerning, as health issues can escalate during such long delays. I sincerely hope the practice addresses these issues and shifts its focus back to prioritizing patient care.
Unfortunately I have to agree with the previous post hereโฆ I had an appointment at 2 pm didnโt get to see the Dr till 3:45โฆ even then he quickly expedited me without answering all my questions. At the end he suggested I ask my additional questions onlineโฆ which is great! Unfortunately whoever answers them seems to be completely disconnected with what the Dr says. The only way to get them answered was to schedule an other appointment months away? Weโre talking about peopleโs health hereโฆ. This is ridiculous.
Dr. Shahed is the most phenomenal Doctor in the northeast Ohio area. Hands down. He has a true passion for what he does and helping develop a plan for treatment. He does not make you feel rushed when you have time with him, offers great advice and stories. Highly suggest going to him as your Doctor!
Dr. Shahed is the best Doctor I have ever had. He listens TO YOU. He takes the time to find the best care for you, and if he recommends someone, please take his advise. Cannot say enough about him. His staff are wonderful. Smiles and always helpful. This practice I would recommend to anyone.
I am myself a physician, and Dr. Shahed is truly one of a kind. He is my primary care physician, and I couldn't recommend him highly enough. He is kind, humble, and very knowledgeable and capable. He spends time with his patients, and is very intent on listening and providing thorough explanations. He is truly your vision of what an ideal primary provider should be.
