For me to give a medical establishment a five star rating says something profound. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. I dread going to new specialists or doctors because I usually leave injured, because my boundaries are crossed by doctors or medical staff who think they know more. From the phlebotomists who drew my blood and didnโ€™t argue with me about why I canโ€™t use a tourniquet (it will sublux or dislocate my elbow), to the PA who let me place the equipment on my body to avoid injury, to the doctor who didnโ€™t hurry me and listened to all my questions and assured me in a way that felt sincere that we will do our best to get to the bottom of everything, to the staff at the imaging department, who didnโ€™t grab or pull or fight me when I got too anxious and said I needed to leave. โ€œTotally understandable. How can I help you right now?โ€ Was the response. I am beyond floored. For the first time in a long time: I felt safe!!!!! For someone as fragile as me to say that, know it is true. I also loved that the handicapped parking is all on the first floor (you wonโ€™t find any on upper levels), BUT thatโ€™s direct access into the main lobby via automatic doors and a ramp!!!! How cool is THAT?! Guys, this place sets the standard of care. I will be switching specialists immediately.

We went to this hospital because my son needed to have a benign growth in his ankle removed that was causing him a lot of pain when he walked on it. He is an adult autistic male and had a large fear of needles and hospitals in general and we were very apprehensive about how he would handle all of this. These folks were totally amazing start to finish. They did nothing without checking with us to see which way would be best for him and explaining to him so he could understand before they did it. As a parent I cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are for their kindness and patience with him and with us. Our surgeon and her team did an amazing job. Every single person we encountered was fantastic and extremely helpful. Sometimes finding the words to communicate his feelings can be difficult. He was so grateful to them and told me that he would have liked to give each of them a hug and thank them. But I explained the reasons why that would be difficult to do. He just went for his 2 week visit and the X-rays are amazing compared to what was there before and there is no pain. To Dr Megan Anderson and her team and everyone involved with his care we can never thank you enough! For anyone who has the slightest doubt about this hospital, put all of those doubts away. These folks are absolutely AMAZING๐Ÿ’•

Excellent experience with Dr Hezel. Very clearly explained diagnosis with my knee and potential options and trade offs. Spent the right amount of time to ensure I understood potential options clearly. Genuinely cared about my care. Scheduling was easy and appointment was on time. I would highly recommend.

I had a hip replacement surgery in the Orthopedic department of Beth Israel on July 11th 2024. Dr Stoker and the entire team were amazing. Not even a month has passed and I already walk with a cane. From reception to the nurses and from the sergeant to the PT that comes to work with me at home all were excellent caring and attentive. I canโ€™t thank you enough! Bless your hearts!

My comment is in regards to the NICU. I delivered my baby here for the most part my experience was fine. I am not unreasonable and I understand the nurses cannot be around the infants 24/7. My son had to go into the NICU the day he was born. The next morning I went down to visit him. They didnโ€™t inform me he was on oxygen. So I automatically started crying. When my son was two days old and he developed a diaper rash. I was recovering from a c section. I talked the nurse and she told me it was a fungal infection. I have worked with adults and I have kids. I was actually upset that she even tried to tell me that. I was born at night but not that night. Everytime I went to visit him he was covered in poop. Not just covered I mean it was stuck to his skin and I had to scrub it off. Again I understand there is other children I am not unreasonable. But not only was his rash so bad it was bleeding then his front area was raw red. I took pictures because I was horrified. Also, again they put him back on oxygen and guess what nobody informed me. The day I was being discharged I was on my way home. I decided to turn around and stay with him until he was ready to come home. I stayed there for 5 nights. I did not feel my son was safe here. Everyone informed me they were the best. I am sorry but I beg to differ. Some nurses are absolutely amazing!! Jessica, Colleen, and Sarah just to name a few that have made such a big difference. But please if you have babies stay away from this NICU. I cannot tell you the amount of times I heard babies having rashes. The amount of times they let babies just cry it out. Many of the babies will be crying for awhile before anyone even goes to them. I did not leave my sons side. I trusted nobody in there. One nurse even rolled her eyes at me when I said he was hungry. My son was crying at one point and I really needed help. Those two nurses sat at the computer chatting and laughing like a bunch of high school girls. At one point we had another baby in the room with us. The child screamed and screamed and nobody came. They actually put him in another room. The poor baby was crying and the nurse was just sitting on the computer. Nobody was in there and they just shut the door and he cried himself to sleep. I will forever be horrified and heart broken over the babies that were there. Itโ€™s some of the night nurses that are horrible. I learned very fast who the good nurses were and the bad ones. Every single place has a couple bad workers. But I really hope they do something. If you need to leave your baby here please stay put and donโ€™t trust them. I would never leave my kids here. The doctors in the NICU were great no issues there. The day before we were supposed to leave. My son was on a oxygen monitor around his foot. So his oxygen was dipping but I tried telling the nurse the monitor was falling off. She gave me an attitude and said it was on the right spot. So we had to stay another day. But guess what we put the oxygen monitor in a different spot. His oxygen didnโ€™t drop not one time. So who really knows how long he was okay to come home? The sad part was there was only one person who was able to figure this out. My husband at one point asked a nurse how often do they check on the babies? She literally told him we only check on them every three to four hours they donโ€™t want to disturb there sleep.Thank god for herโ€ฆ but please stay away!!
