I came in for an eye appointment. I have had some issues from my TBI and I had blurry vision. They could not figure out what was wrong. The doctor in my appointment was googling things and then sent me down to the Eye ER. I was there for 10 hours with the staff telling me we are waiting for a response from the radiology department. After being wrapped around we finally got a response that the radiology was closed and they would not be taking me. I was here for over 10 hours and know one seemed to have the care or time to figure out or give me any answers. This is a workers comp claim and I am now receiving a bill for over $600. I have been trying to reach them. The only thing that I am able to access is to just pay the bill out of pocket. Even though I had given all information on my claim to have workers comp pay for this. When I call I get transferred many times with no one solving my issue yet again. The staff are rude and care little from phone takers to appointment schedulers to the doctors and nurses. When I was in the ER all the staff was flirting and chatting and honestly they were talking crap and gossiping about all the cases. I could literally hear them as I was waiting for 10 hours there. I would not recommend even though it is a big name. There was a complete lack of diligence and care.

Great hospital. The staff at and in the emergency department were very friendly and helpful. They had phone charging station in the waiting area. The place was packed, not one empty seat in the whole waiting room. There was a cafe across the hall but it was closed. They served drinks there. They initially told us it would be a 3 hour wait but turned out to be one hour and a half wait. When we got to a room, the doctor was quick and thorough. The parking was easy if you went into the right lot off storrow drive.

This review is based on my experience at the hospital during my septoplasty. It's relatively early to comment on the results of the surgery or give credit to the doctor, so I'll update it later. My experience at MEE was incredibly good. From the front desk to the discharge nurse, everybody treated me with courtesy and respect. All nurses that approached me had a smile on their faces and were so so friendly. They explained everything thoroughly and put me at ease. I knew I was in good hands. My only concern was being anxious after waking up from the anesthesia, and fortunately I had an incredible nurse sitting next to me who talked to me for what seemed to be hours. I was a little out of myself because of the anesthesia and she listened to all the random topics I wanted to talk about and laughed with me. I keep saying I feel like I made true friends, except I don't remember their names. It's kinda like when you go to a club and have too much to drink and make friends in the bathroom. Now I feel like just going to the hospital to hang out with the awesome nurses. All my respect to them! I also love the fact that my husband got texts keeping him updated every step of the way.

They get two stars because they have a courtesy charging station, and my eyeball didn't explode. I visited the emergency room at Mass Eye and Ear this past weekend. My eye was bleeding and I needed to have it checked out. My husband and I sat in the waiting room for almost 4 hours. They were seemingly extremely understaffed. The waiting room is dated and didnโ€™t appear very clean. Anyone we encountered, from check in to check out was very rude (minus one nurse/tech that took my stats โ€“ she was friendly). When I finally made it to a room, we sat there for another half hour before seeing anyone. The โ€œdoctorโ€ came in (I am assuming she was a doctor because she was wearing a white coat) and her bedside manner was unimpressive. She looked to be under 30 and appeared to have just rolled out of bed, completely disheveled looking with her hair messily hanging out of a clip that was dangling from the back of her head about to fall out. Before entering our room, we watched her in the hallway shuffle around aimlessly texting on her phone (and same for the rest of the staff, all shuffling around glued to their phones). When she came in, she seemed uninterested in my summary and preoccupied with her phone. She used a handheld device to check my eye pressure without giving me numbing drops first. I repeatedly flinched every time she got close to my eyeball. Apparently, my flinching must have become too much, and she finally decided to give me numbing drops (thanks!). When she left the room, I looked at my husband and said, was that seriously a doctor?? We were both somewhat shocked. They diagnosed me with dry eye and said a blood vessel had ruptured. I question the diagnoses as I have never had dry eye symptoms. I tried to tell them that I had fallen asleep with my contacts in and wondered if that had anything to do with this, but no one seemed interested or responded (I saw two separate doctors there; the second was a retina specialist). When we left, I said this is the world-renowned Mass Eye & Ear?? Not impressed. I reviewed my discharge paperwork when I returned home, and it included the name of the doctor that had treated me. I looked her up online and interestingly, I donโ€™t believe the doctor listed on my paperwork is who I actually saw. It appeared to be a completely different person. So, I have no clue if I saw a doctor or for that matter, who I even saw. I wish that this happened on a weekday; I would have just gone to my regular eye doctor. I would have been better off going to a regular emergency room, this place was a joke. I would not go here again, very unimpressed.

I was sent to Mass Eye and Ear by my optometrist for a tear in my retina. The y had me in surgery the very next morning and I couldnโ€™t be happier with the entire experience. From the person at the front desk to the nurses and surgeons, everyone was very polite, professional, and treated with the utmost respect and care. It was great to feel so comfortable and confident in the people there and made the whole process extremely favorable considering the situation. I would highly recommend anyone to go there.
