a month agoThis hospital was AWESOME during our time of need!! My family and I were here for over a week due to our loved one (Wilson) taking ill and eventually transitioning to Heaven. Everyone was so nice, attentive, sympathetic, accommodating and just AMAZING!!! The love we were shown by the doctors, nurses, chaplains, cafeteria staff, etc was unmeasurable!!! (I donโt want to miss anyone, so I am not going to list individual names.) I am from TX, but I can truly say I have never felt so much love and support from a hospital. โThank Youโ, โThank Youโ, โThank You!!!"

3 months agoI went into the hospital panicked and scared but EVERYONE there was beyond kind and patient with me. Truly the most soothing experience I have had at a hospital or any medical facility in my life. The Doctor, nurses and staff set me at ease immediately despite my constant tears. I am deeply and profoundly grateful for their empathy, professionalism help and expertise.

a year agoHospital was okay. Went into the main entrance, where they make you mask-up and ask you where your going. There is security guard at the entrance also. Every time I have been here, the parking situation is terrible, you have to park so far away. Unless you are handicapped, but even then the spots are usually filled up very quickly. There are vending machines near emergency room which is nice. The wait is usually a good wait. Wouldnโt go back unless had to.

5 months agoThe Salem hospital's emergency room is by far the worst emergency room I've ever been to. I was having pain in my neck for around 6 months but I didn't have a primary care physician at the time, so I thought the best thing was to go to the ER so I could get it looked at. From check in to discharge it took 12 hours, the reason why it takes so long is because all the nurses sit with each other at their desks and laugh loud and obnoxious, chatting up a storm while people are in there for serious issues. After laying on a gurney for 8 hours (excluding the waiting room time) listening to these "professionals" blab away, you can imagine I was extremely frustrated. So I walked out to ask them to just take my IV out so I could just go home, but they gave me a hard time and told me to wait. After waiting another hour I was done, so I see the nurse come in to do what she should have done when I asked her the first time, and I say "finally coming to take the IV out I see" after I had said that she walked over and stuck her finger in my face and began scolding me like I was her child. Do not go here for an emergency, they would rather get on shift and treat their job like a daily hangout then actually listen to what you have to say and help you.

3 months agoI wish I could give them no stars. I went here back in May because it felt like my throat was closing. It was close to midnight and the waiting room was packed. It was the emergency room so I didnโt think anything of it. I got called back to get swabbed for strep and get my blood taken as well. The man taking my blood had the needle sticking out of my arm. He attempted to take the blood from my right hand but couldnโt so he ended up taking the blood from my forearm on my left arm and not where you would regularly take it from. He ended up popping a vein. So I was told to wait back in the waiting room. I was sitting beside a very pregnant woman, a man was across from me puking in a paint bucket, and another woman was having fevers and coughing really badly. It was around 3/4 in the morning and a woman in a wheelchair had been there since 3pm the previous day waiting to be seen and a man in a wheelchair had also been there waiting since 3pm as well and finally got called in at 3/4 in the morning. A man hurt his pinky and came in hours after all of us and was in and out. He couldnโt have been there longer than an hour and got his bandage and went home. I went to talk to the receptionist about why it was taking so long because NOBODY had gotten called back there since the first hour of me being there and it was the middle of the night. She told me to go sit down and that there wasnโt anything she could do and that I needed to wait just like the rest of the people. Well fast forward to 5am Iโm still there and nobodyโs made a move, so I go to stand outside for a second and when I come back in the lady at the front is clipping her nails and laughing with other people and after sheโs done clipping her nails she was eating chips just laughing. So I ended up leaving and had to pay out of pocket for a virtual appointment. DO NOT GO HERE. Youโre better off diagnosing yourself at home.
