Dr. Zakari Tata is a Family Medicine physician who has an outpatient clinic as well as a home visit practice. He is an Adjunct Clinical Professor in Family Medicine at two (2) universities: Wayne State University in Detroit, as well as at Michigan State University in Lansing. He trained as General Surgeon in England and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

Dr. Tata has been on the Board of Directors for S.E. Michigan’s Academy of Family Physicians for 2 years. He has presented on Bioethics nationally at the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities and is currently registered as a volunteer for the DPS initiative to enhance the reading and writing skills of secondary, high school and at-risk students to improve their success rate while pursuing higher education and to ensure their marketability in society.

Dr. Tata’s commitment to practicing humanitarian medicine fuels his strong interest in philosophy and writing as he uses those skills to teach Bioethics and the sociological aspects of medicine to medical students and residents in urban America.

Dr. Tata currently serves as Chair of Ethics at Sinai Grace Hospital.
