5 months agoOver the years, Iโve never wanted to try a food truck even though theyโre very popular! We went to this one in downtown Austin and it has become one of my FAVORITE places to eat!! The gyros are DELICIOUS, huge, and very filling! The cheese fries are also very good. I donโt like spicy so I chose not to get their spice sauce on mine. They have a selection of canned cold drinks. I was also impressed with their little seating area! Clean, casual, and not noisy at all! A perfect place to sit, eat good food, and enjoy good conversation!! ๐ Oh, and they have to-go containers if you need to take home leftovers. If ordering through Uber eats, which we do now too, they wrap them really well and arrive just as fresh as eating them on site.

4 months agoNice little halal place in downtown. We ordered the chicken shawarma and chicken strips. The shawarmas were ok, nothing special. They are sized a tad smaller than usual but are packed generously. They do tend to fall apart, but no complains as the taste was pretty good. The owner was kind enough to keep a cooler running, and it made for a pleasant dining experience. What I didn't appreciate is the fact that they don't advertise their prices and tend to overcharge their customers. I ordered 2 shawarmas first and 2 more separately later. They priced each shawarma at $14, but when I inquired about the price, they said oh it's $11.30 and and changed the total. So I ended up overpaying for the first two shawarmas. That's a bit dishonest, I think. So ask about the wraps and plates upfront and make sure to check the final bill. Always advertise your price upfront.

a month agoThis is the best gyro in Austin. I eat here every other day and itโs always fresh and on point.

2 months agoI love gyros, but rarely eat them. Last one was in Greece. It wasn't Greece, but it was really really good. Wasn't inexpensive and it basically a trailer (Food wagon). But I highly recommend it. Around 11-12 dollars each, but there's a lot there. Ate mine and the other half of my wife's. I see that they had good reviews... I agree.

a month agoOne of my favorite food trucks downtown. It's nestled off Neches between 5th and 6th Street. My favorite is the gyro wrap, it's perfectly spiced and just the right amount of food. If you're particularly hungry the gyro salad or plate are good choices. Chicken and vegetarian options are also available. They have a nice covered sitting area with picnic tables and a green plant wall for some privacy.
