With popular demand now you can get the gyro and rice or chicken and rice combo with the famous white and red sauce at all new Halal Street restaurant inside of Detroit Shipping Company
Pretty good rice bowl I ordered the combo rice platter that comes with chicken and meat ๐ฅฉYou have to eat it fresh tho because when it gets cold the rice gets really dry for some reason but flavor wise it's delicious ๐ฅ
SO good!! Excellent service, everyone who works there is kind and friendly. These are some of the best fries I've ever had - perfectly seasoned, very crispy on the outside, soft on the inside! And the chicken/lamb gyro mix is addicting!!
Cool spot. However, ordered foodโฆWas told it would be about 30 minutes. Went back up 45 minutes later to check on order. Nobody was willing to help. Waited another 20 minutes and still no food. Finally had to give up to go to our concert.
Finally! a good NYC style food spot. The food was bomb! I specifically got the lamb over rice and it did not disappoint me. The cashiers were young but knew what they were doing. they cook and the owner are very welcoming. Definitely recommend trying it out. 10/10
Halal Street is located inside the Detroit Shipping Company, which is a very cool spot. You order your food and get a buzzer, allowing you to walk around the building and sit in the outdoor space while waiting.
**Food:** We ordered a lamb platter, a mixed platter with chicken and lamb, and the chicken kabob platter.
- **Biryani Rice:** Very good, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.
- **Lamb Platter:** The lamb was okay. It was essentially gyro meat, and the flavor mainly came from the hot sauce and white sauce rather than the meat itself.
- **Mixed Platter:** Similar to the lamb platter, the flavor relied on the sauces. It came with lettuce and white onions.
- **Chicken Kabob Platter:** The best dish we tried. It included six skewers of nicely seasoned chicken with vegetables, adding great flavor. It came with a side of biryani rice and a salad.
**Service:** The buzzer system was convenient, allowing us to explore and enjoy the outdoor area while waiting for our food.
**Prices:** Fairly priced. The lamb platter was $12, the mixed platter $14, and the chicken kabob platter $20. You get a good amount of food for the price.
**Conclusion:** The food is similar to NY-style street food as they claim, but I probably wouldnโt get the lamb again. Despite this, Iโd go back to try something else on their menu. The atmosphere and overall experience were enjoyable.
