Our History
The Foundation to Advance Islamic Teaching in Houston (FAITH) was formed in 1996 to meet the educational needs of Muslim families living in Houston. The main objective is to create quality educational institutions that excel in academics and produce morally responsible citizens. Since its inception, FAITH has experienced tremendous growth and has established two full-time schools—one in the Southeast and the other in the Southwest. These schools—operating under the name IMAN ACADEMY—provide education for grades 1 – 12 (with 11th grade having the option of being in-house or dual credit and 12th grade as dual credit only). Future plans include offering all grades as in-house and dual credit (for those eligible for dual credit) enrollment.
FAITH Childcare Center SE was initiated as a Mother’s Day Out program at the Southeast campus and has grown into a State-Rising Star (4-Star) childcare center with children from newborns to Kindergarten. The Southwest campus also has a licensed FAITH Childcare Center to serve the Muslims in that area. We are excited about our progress and the prospects for continued growth.
We thank Allah for his uninterrupted and immeasurable support and the dedication of the Brothers and Sisters striving to make Iman Academy and FAITH Childcare successful.
Philosophy of Education
FAITH seeks to provide a complete education to develop well-rounded students and provides an Islamic environment so the staff can deliver strong academic training and a comprehensive understanding of Islam. Our students should have a full understanding and appreciation for Islam as a way of life meaning it is the guiding source in all aspects of their lives – ethical, family, social, economic, etc. The Arabic term used to describe this development process is Tarbiyah, which refers to the complete development of the individual – mentally, socially, physically, etc. The Tarbiyah process develops the individual in all aspects based on Islamic core values derived from the Quran and teachings of the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).
If this is the vision and the final product of Tarbiyah at Iman Academy, how are we going to translate this vision into practical goals and objectives? Ultimately, the goals of Tarbiyah would prepare young Muslims to become:
•Committed Balanced Muslims
• Knowledgeable Scholars
• Contributing Citizens and Community Builders
These three objectives go hand in hand and cannot be taught one at a time in a linear manner. They have to be taught and practiced at the same time using an integrated approach.

2 years agoMy children started attending Iman Academy SE since they were babies. Now that they are older, I notice the values that Iman Academy planted in them and am very thankful to the Almighty God that He helped me make the decision to send my children there. Iman Academy SE is a loving community within a school that taught my children to be caring, respectful, and reverend. They taught my children Islam the way I couldn't have, not knowing Arabic. While attending public high school and university, my children have been competitive and done well. The teachers and the principals still know their names and care about them. I am glad we are still part of the Iman Academy family.

4 years agoI am a mother of 4. Three of my kids go to Iman Academy for the last 4 years, they are all in elementary and day care. The staff are amazing, helpful and professional. The teachers deal with the kids as their own children. You can feel that the kids are loved. The directors are available to listen to my concerns. The level of education is high. My kids have high score in state exams. Miss Dalia is a sweetheart, she is always smiling and ready to address any questions. Everyone here will go that extra mile to have everything perfect. My kids are growing in a nurturing, safe and loving environment. I feel when going there like going to my family. Thanks for everything you do for our children.

5 years agoI sent my daughter to Iman Academy Faith childcare southeast. I absolutely appreciate everything the teachers and staff did at this school. The Principals care about watch and every student and it is evident by the amount of time they put in. I did not know just how well they were doing teaching my preschooler until I moved and am now starting her at another school for Kindergarten. She is so well prepared! She knows so much and I have received only good news from her teachers so far on how ready she is for kindergarten. If you have a preschooler, I can not think of a better place for them to go to and get the knowledge they need to prepare them for kindergarten. I 100% recommend the Childcare at Iman Academy. The building is so well kept. And the principals for both Childcare and Elementary were attentive, caring and warm. If I still lived in the area I would continue to send my child there. The only one thing I hope changes is that I hope they are able to start providing lunches at the school. They have pizza day twice a week but something more consistent and not just pizza would be fantastic. Overall, I highly recommend this childcare and elementary.

8 years agoGreat experience alhamdulillah! It's my 4th year and I can't say enough nice words about it. Unique friendly environment, trustworthy, you don't have to worry about issues that public schools have. Children learn academics together with arabic, quran and islamic studies. Highly recommend!!!
