a year agoAttending Asheville Islamic Center has been an incredibly enriching experience for me. From the moment I walked through its doors, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel instantly at ease. The community at Asheville Islamic Center is truly remarkable. They have created a space that embraces diversity and fosters unity among individuals from all walks of life. The members of this mosque treat each other like family, always extending a helping hand and offering support to those in need. One particular highlight of my time at Asheville Islamic Center is the day I took my shahada. It was a momentous occasion that will forever hold a special place in my heart. The whole community came together to celebrate and express their happiness for me, making it an unforgettable experience. The leadership and imams at Asheville Islamic Center are exceptional in their dedication to educating and guiding the congregation. Their Friday sermons (jumah) and various programs provide valuable insights and understanding of Islam, nurturing spiritual growth and personal development. I highly recommend Asheville Islamic Center to anyone seeking a place of worship and a supportive community. Whether you are a new convert like myself or someone looking to deepen their connection with God, you will find solace and belonging within these walls. Overall, Asheville Islamic Center is an embodiment of true Islamic values, embodying kindness, compassion, and unity. I am grateful to have found such a welcoming and spiritually fulfilling place to call my spiritual home. May Allah Guide us all.

a year agoWarning! Do not bring your children here! This "masjid" is against any ikhtilaf and against allowing people of differing schools of thought from praying either with them or separate from them! I am a convert to Islam and I've been told very clearly that I am unwelcome there due to following a different madhab/school of thought. I did not argue, I did not seek argument, nor was I belligerent in any way, shape, or form. Rather, I was treated badly not only for my school of thought, but also my lineage. I was demeaned due to not being of Arabic blood by at least one individual here, and I was told not to pray despite facing the qibla and following the appropriate patterns of each rakat. When individuals stood up against this, they were also demeaned and talked down to - ESPECIALLY if they were other converts. I was even told to "go make your own masjid, because to be plain you are not welcome here." SubhanAllah...I took my shahada here and it's the only masjid in my hometown...my family isn't even Muslim either, and this is how I was treated. Of which they did not even deny that I was a Muslim, and still were belligerent despite my attempts to be there out of solidarity as well as to pray in a masjid rather than at home, where I'm the sole Muslim. May Allah guide us all...

2 years agoAlhamdullilah for this mosque. My son and I stopped to pray here when we were in the area. It's nice and clean and the people who were there were very pleasant. At some small mosques it can seem like an interrogation when there's a new person, but not here. We just did our prayers in peace. If ever in the area we will definitely come pray here again. Jazakallah Khair.

a year agoMashAllah; a great masjid. I am not local to the mosque’s area, but stopped there to offer prayer while touring the mountains in the area. It is a blessing to have a mosque in that area..may Allah SWT reward and bless those who established it, and those who maintain it!
