In the late 70s, several Muslim families moved into the area and were disappointed to learn that there was not a single Masjid located within 40 miles. Initially Jumuah and Taraweeh prayers were conducted at these family homes but as the number of Muslim families grew it became apparent that a place to conduct prayers in congregation and educate their children was necessary and hence the concept of establishing an Islamic Center was set.
In 1984 a small church was purchased and has evolved over the years into todayโs sprawling Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley (ICSGV). That transformation is owed to many dedicated and generous individuals and the community at large.
The primary goal of the founders of the Islamic Center was the education of children and to this day the Center remains true and dedicated to that goal.

2 years agovery beautiful and welcoming community. this mosque is very new and clean, i love it! i go here for eid and itโs always a pleasure to come. the parking spaces are also very accessible and a good amount with even a lot of street parking around it so there shouldnโt be any trouble.

6 months agoDuring Ramadan, we found excellent programs at this mosque, which is one of the best in Los Angeles. The management is welcoming and provided excellent service. The architecture is well-planned with enough space for prayer and clean restrooms.
