Islamic Society of Bay Ridgeย ISBRย also known as Masjid Musab ibn Umair, is one of the of the first few mosques not only to appear in Brooklyn, but New York as a whole.
Throughout its history, Islamic Society of Bay Ridge has always had a positive influence on the community and continues to do so until this day. It plays a role in outreach to non-muslim individuals, organizations, politicians, and activists.
Islamic Society of Bay Ridge is the spring of all Islamic activities in the area. It has paved the way for other Islamic centers and organizations, and continues to support provide support to those who need it.
Throughout its history,ย ISBRย has been honored with a series of prominent Imams, who have served it in a way that we believe no other masjid or organization has witnessed. (with all due respect to the other Imams, masjids and Islamic Centers)

a year agoGreat masjid, with clean places to do wadu and a separate second floor for sisters to pray in with screens to see the khotba and Friday prayer. It's open almost all day, so it's super convenient for you to catch up on your prayers if you are in the area.

a month agoThere is a girl who says she is Muslim, but she is American. She is lying and is not Muslim. She wears the hijab and comes every day to the mosque with her daughter, who is my daughter. This girl is very dangerous. Beware of her, all Muslims. Beware of this girl. She wears the hijab and her eyes are blue. She says her name is Aisha but that's not her real name her real name is Alexis.

7 months agoThe girls halaqah is very educational here. Everyone is really nice and you can really learn a lot from it. The events and celebrations are very fun and are a healthy and safe place for the girls to befriend others.

a year agoThe womenโs prayer section was decent, and clean, with Qurans and books stocked up, no complaints. However - the restroom and wudu station was unacceptable. There was brown water all over the floor and into the hallway. The stall floors were soaked with that same brown, dirty water. There should be no outside shoes in the wudu area but you have no choice here - itโs filthy. Itโs not the womenโs fault, you canโt sit on the seat because itโs soaking wet, you canโt wipe it down because thereโs no TP or towel or mop for the floor and itโs difficult to use a hose coming from the wall (that you really donโt want to touch, anyways because itโs dirty.) Worst of all, the hose is face down on the floor in brown, dirty water. Thereโs nothing to hang it on, clip it on or even lean it on. This was so demeaning and disappointing. I know less women go to the masjid than men, and our sides are usually a little less modern which is understandable, but this isnโt a funding issue.
