he Jerrahi Order of America aims to conduct and maintain services for divine worship and religious observance in accordance with the doctrine and customs of the Islamic faith. As part of the Islamic faith, charity efforts are extended to people in need both locally and globally. The Jerrahi Order of America is a nonpolitical organization and rejects discrimination based on race, religion, gender and ethnicity.

The Jerrahi Order of America is the Western branch of a traditional Sufi tariqat. Our order was founded in Istanbul, Turkey in the 1700โ€™s, byย Saint Nureddin Jerrahi, where our first dergah (meeting place) still thrives today. We are a community of dervishes who follow a shaykh (teacher) and our building also functions as a mosque for the wider Muslim community. Our membersโ€™ diverse ethnic, professional and national backgrounds reflect the global Islamic community.

We hold regular meetings for the study of Sufism, music and the ritual of Dhikr (remembrance). We regularly organize relief projects such as support of homelessness programs, local food pantries, local and global distribution of school supplies, blankets, food and clothing, and support of scholarship funds. We sponsor cultural events such as concerts, festivals and public dhikrs, and offer education about Islam to a myriad of school groups and organizations. The Jerrahi Order has published many books and articles. We have a prison liaison program, and collaborate with various local interfaith groups. We have an active youth group that undertakes projects and participates in community service.

The Jerrahi Order has centers in Turkey, Chestnut Ridge, NY; Philadephia, PA, Redwood City, CA; Chicagi, IL; Bosnia, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, Argentina, Chile and Brazil, and has members all over the world.

Beautiful mosque, lovely and welcoming congregation. Attended a wedding here, and between the service and ceremony, the singing and the reception afterwords, everything was perfect.

one Satarday I was passing by. the masjid was full of peaple, I went in did my paryer, when I was going out, at the masjid door, I was asked by samone if I read the notice on the frant door. I said No, he showed to me and said read it, while I was doing so, he told me sorry brother the masjid is close for prayer due to covid-19 governor restriction, I said I am sorry, I don't know that, the reason I come in,I see the place is open and full of peaple. and I come to pray and go. so I went , and there is a big question mark in my head, WHY me the masjid is close for me and not for the other peaple, on my way to my car , I asked sameone else. And I was told that , the masjid open for neighbor with covid-19 vaccine only, I went away with big question mark still in my head. Why, in my opinion, this is God house, and Islam is about equality, if its open or close it should be for every bady, the Governer restriction was clear every where, all businesses in NYC are operating in 100%. my 6 years old daughter was with me, Thank God she don't understand what happened. I don't want her see this kind of discrimination or unequality happened in the masjid, I love this place, and I used to go there since 1996. When I lived and worked in west Nyack.

This time i was invited to the funeral and burial services of their Order leader. Firstly, I offer my sincere condolences to his family and order members. This is a nice clean cosy place with friendly mystic members, doing their mystic chants. They are good with everyone, muslim and non-muslim and will usually serve free food and tea to everyone during their long mystic gatherings. You must have a car because it is not possible to return home by public transportation late afternoon.Among many of my visits, every time i used public transportation i had to sleep on the masjid floor over night because there would be no public transportation after certain hours. (On a personal note, this type of practise is not exactly my cupa coffee, it 's not a secret that this is not the standard teaching of islamic theology in any islamic university and not accepted by islamic scholars, but i still would come visit this place once in a while because i have some good ol friends here and they always invite). Please scroll below and 'LIKE' my post if it was helpful. Thank you
