Prior to graduating from Boston College Law School, Attorney Joseph Lamy spent several years as a personal injury adjuster for a national insurance company. In this capacity, he gained experience by negotiating and resolving the most serious forms of injury, including brain injuries, scarring, fractures, burns, and fatalities.
He negotiated and settled hundreds of cases and participated in mediations and arbitrations for the most complex of situations. This experience gives him a unique understanding of how insurance companies evaluate and settle personal injury claims. As a former adjuster, Attorney Lamy knows exactly what it takes to obtain the largest rewards for his clients.
Education & Early Experience
Attorney Lamy showed potential to be a great litigator before even graduating from law school. While at Boston College Law, he distinguished himself by winning an annual negotiation competition and by winning the award for best brief in the Moot Court Competition.
In addition, Attorney Lamy was selected to serve as the Managing Editor for the Boston College International and Comparative Law Review. In his final year of law school, he gained further valuable experience by working with one of Providence’s most respected law firms and as an intern for Justice Robinson of the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
Attorney Lamy began his legal career as an associate at one of New England’s premier personal injury trial firms, Sugarman & Sugarman. At Sugarman, he worked on the largest and most complex of personal injury cases including, but not limited to, medical malpractice, auto accidents, product liability, and more.
Cases We Handle
With this experience, Attorney Lamy returned home to Providence to open his own practice in the summer of 2009. He is licensed to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and handles many legal matters pertaining to personal injury, including auto accidents, medical malpractice, motorcycle accidents, wrongful death, construction accidents, nursing home abuse and neglect, slip and fall, food poisoning, dog bites, and product liability.
His practice has grown rapidly because he gives all of his clients his full attention (including his personal cell phone number), refuses to back down and accept low settlement offers, and holds himself to the highest ethical standards.
