If youโre a tourist hunting for a quick, affordable halal meal, look no furtherโthis place has you covered. The $12 gyro platter is hands down one of the best deals youโll find. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, the rice is perfectly cooked, and the salads and sauces just tie it all together in the best way possible. Itโs filling, tasty, and easy on the wallet.
Locals, youโre seriously lucky to have this spot in your neighborhood. Everything on the platter is fresh and full of flavor, and you can tell they put care into making sure each part of the meal hits just right. Whether you're a visitor or a regular, this is the kind of place youโll keep coming back to.
The rumors were true. You get a falafel while you wait on line. It was really good. Big pieces, as the reviewer says below, the falafel was very crunchy. I also like how it was cylindrical and not round balls. This was Baes recommendation after an afternoon walking in Central Park watching the sun go down. I got the chicken Sharma sandwhich. Just a little spicey and my head is sweaming, eyes tearing, nose running. What a cleansing. No where to sit. The stone benches have fences around them. Pro tip, head across the street for a table in the indoor public space. Wow. That was really good. Stomach full. No more food for me tonight. I feel satisfied. Staff was really friendly. I will come back again.
The falafel from here is so crunchy and delicious (they gave me one while I was waiting!). The hot sauce had me in tears but it was so good! The salad/vegetables are fresh, and rice is cooked to perfection. I'm so excited to try the rest of the menu. Very friendly people. Free ๐ต๐ธ๐
Passing by a few times and finally today I tried their chicken platter. So glad I did! Chicken is juicy, fresh salad, balance with rice. Since it is my first time I ask for a bit of all sauces. All pretty good. Hot sauce is indeed hot though, thank goodness I can take a hit . Not sure if a falafel is part of the order but he did give me one. It was cold but still pretty good. I can imagine how good it will be if it is warm. $10 and they take credit card. A nice lunch choice. Compare to other food trucks around. I would think this is a better choice.
Told bae about this off of the suggestion of a coworker. We jolted from our bench seats at Central Park when I also said supposedly they give free falafel while you wait.
I thought it was only when they had a long line. Nope we were the second on line and he handed both bae and i our own falafel.
Bae got the spicy shawarma and I got the chicken platter. It was filling and messy for me lol and bae was sweating bullets from the spices.
But all in all this was great filling food and such friendly service. Will come back if there isnโt a long line.
