La Mama Restaurant

Today was my first time at La Mama. My friends and I had the chicken kabob & lamb shanks. Both meals were incredibly delicious. We will definitely come back to try more items. Also, we met the owner who was so sweet & welcoming to us. :)

We shared the lamb shoulder a pineapple drink and a spread of desserts. Everything was delicious and flavorful. Service was quick and friendly. Can't wait to try everything else on the menu! Thank you for dinner La Mama!

Wonderful surprise! Didn't expect the food to be as fresh and flavorful as it was. The serving size was fairly generous and it was served hot. The pineapple and mango juices were also great. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the Lotus dessert -- it didn't have any texture and the flavor wasn't up to par. The Philly Cheesesteak was excellent - hot and juicy. The lamb shish kebab platter with its rice and sauces was excellent. The side of fruit was also nice. I'll be visiting again.

We are travelling from Winnipeg to Chicago and had a few stop overs and wanted to try food! Dinner at La Mama’s. Discovering La Mama’s in Minneapolis at 2000 Nicollet is one of a “great finds” we had in this trip. Great food and service! The owners are very accommodating, the husband is friendly and he mentioned that his wife cooks everything with personal touch. We met her and she is very nice, Arafah served us personally with great customer service. Made us find our way back there on our way back to Winnipeg, so we can experience the great ambiance and great food again! Lunch at La Mama’s. Their Lamb shank and roasted shoulder were the best mediterranean food I had, great price and huge servings, too! Smoothies are so fresh! Great value of money! We have not reach home yet but agreed to definitely eat at La Mama’s whenever we pass by Minneapolis!

La Mama is so versatile. Where yemeni food and Somali food meet. I got the rice, with lamb shanks and fruit. It came with three sauces. Red hot sauce, a green tangy sauce and ranch. I loved the food, super filling. What I ordered served 2 people. We couldn’t even finish it all. (I mean we were petite women so….) But, I think even if u were men, you would be satiated. The drinks were nice too. My friend got watermelon and I got pineapple. I’m a pineapple girlie. The watermelon was 7.5/10 for me compared to the pineapple, 10/10. Anyways, parking was easy to find. Free street parking, near the liquor store around the corner. Love La Mama. 10/10 for food and ambiance. Recommend to all!
