The overstuffed leather couches, fireplace, free Wi-Fi and hookah make Cafe Lava Java just as much a lounge as it is a restaurant. With an extensive menu that offers everything from a Waldrof salad to a kafta and hummous pita, it has a little something for everyone. Be sure to check out the daily specials served with house bread, and call ahead on weekends to get the latest details on live music performances.

6 months agoGreek salad w/chicken. Delicious The service was just okay, took awhile for food to come. Servers were nice. Lose 2 stars for serving out of to go box & plastics plates & cups. Its just not a good look. When asked the server says its been like this since covid, but we're far beyond the covid excuses. Its not the cheapest place but that choice to serve definitely gives a cheap feel.

3 weeks agoLava Java, the original hookah lounge in Dearborn, Michigan, offers a truly immersive experience that blends great food, drinks, and a vibrant atmosphere. Stepping inside, youโre immediately struck by the loungeโs modern Arabian night vibe, with plush seating, dim lighting, and intricate dรฉcor that evokes the allure of the Middle East. Itโs the perfect spot to unwind, whether youโre enjoying a quiet night with friends or looking for a lively place to socialize. The shawarma sandwiches are a must-try, with tender, flavorful meat wrapped in soft, warm bread, and the hummus is fresh and creamy, offering an authentic taste of the region. To complement your meal, the lounge offers an array of drinks from Juice Time, including refreshing shakes and smoothies that are both delicious and satisfying. in the last weekFood was oily, but acceptable. Services was horrible, once the waitress brought the food, she never came back, we asked for lemon, no one came back, we needed the carry box or receipt but again no one cared or checked if we need anything, the owner didn't care, he smiled, played stupid & pretended like nothing wrong with that. I am really disappointed & don't encourage people to go there.

a month agoEaten here many times and have also picked up many takeout orders. The food does not disappoint. Wait times aren't long either. Prices are pretty high though. You would need to work a whole half shift to be able to afford a complete meal.
