Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience as first time homeowners with the Steele group. We are not ones to leave bad reviews to ever hurt a business but hope that this constructive feedback can be used for future clients. We initially wanted to work with Hyeyoung Steele, agent that was recommended by my parents but after the initial showing, we all of a sudden started working with her husband, who is a broker. We felt that this wasn’t communicated to us at all and we found out after closing that she failed to tell us this due to feeling uncomfortable from a previous transaction issue with my parents. We would have appreciated early notice that we wouldn’t be able to work with an agent of choice so that we could have gone with another agent. In addition, we felt that as first time home buyers, we were navigating everything on our own without much guidance, support or help with questions. We did address that we would need a lot of guidance since we were first time home owners from the beginning. While we did ask a lot of questions, we felt that the answers we received were either incorrect information or digressed and we had to research many things on our own. The contract was also delayed due to a technical error that could have resulted in another potential offer and us losing the contract. We are certainly far from perfect and should have addressed these concerns early on as well so we do have some faults in communication and taking this as lessons learned for future transactions. However, felt that our first home buying experience has been really stressful through working with the Steele group. All in all, would have appreciated more professionalism, communication, and assistance with first time home buyer needs.
