Immerse yourself in the savory flavors of the Middle East at Layali el Sham where authentic and flavorful dishes generate a culinary experience that transcends culture.
Originally from Syria, our chefs began cooking at young ages. In the kitchen, they learned to go beyond common ingredients โ garlic, cumin, onion, coriander โ and standard culinary techniques; they discovered how to cook from their heart and in doing so they โunlocked the magical flavors from the crossroads of civilization.โ Today, we use fresh local ingredients, robust aromatic spices and years of experience in the kitchen to create dishes such as hummus, tabbouleh, shawarma, falafel, and baklawa at Southern Market.
Our passion for the rich history of Middle Eastern cuisine, combined with the power of food to be a universal language, leads to people of all backgrounds uniting around the table as one community. Come experience the rich heritage of Middle Eastern cuisine at Layali el Shamโฆthe nights of Damascus.

3 months agoThis is a HALAL place. It serves Syrian Food. We were looking for a local HALAL place to eat in Lancaster and Google search suggested this place. It's located inside of the Southern Market. We ordered Spicy Hummus Bowl with vegetables, Layali El Sham Gyro with salad, and Tamarind Sparkler drink. Everything tasted amazing. The ingredients were very fresh, and all flavors were perfect! Gyro was juicy, but nothing was dripping either. Hummus bowl... I didn't expect it to love that much. We finished everything right away. We don't live nearby, but when we are in the area and have time, we will stop by. Thank you! Highly recommended to try the food here! Lancaster, Pennsylvania

3 weeks agoIโve been here twice now to eat Arabic food and both occasions were nice. The food came out fast and tasted good. The fact that itโs in the Lancaster Southern Market makes it better because of the live atmosphere. Also the guy at the register does a great job describing the food on the menus and what goes on each plate.

4 months agoFlavorful shawarma. Ton of great varieties to pick from. They are in open restaurant concept so many different restaurants are serving food and use common seating area. But they have good mechanism to alert you when food is ready. Service was fast and kind. They gave extra white sauce on request. Thanks for amazing Syrian food. Most importantly itโs halal place serving authentic middle eastern food. Goodness

a week agoThe food was meh. If you eat Middle Eastern food, you wonโt be impressed. Mild flavor to almost no flavor. The guy is nice, didnโt crack a smile but straightforward. At the end, itโs not worth the price.

2 months agoWe got the spicy hummus and chicken shawarma hummus plate. Hummus was not as fresh as we have had in other places. The naan and veggies on the side were not so fresh as well, i would not go back here again. Service was ok
