6 months agoThe professionalism and efficiency at this location is so much better than where I went before. They are very on top of your infusion care, and they make sure that it is going well throughout the process, which is a big deal to me. They also offer juice or water, which surprised meโ I didnโt get that at the previous place that I went. They are much more thorough, both in the specialists appointment, and in the actual infusion. Long story short, where I went Was OK until it wasnโt and they had what couldโve been considered a medical malpractice suit at some point. This place has renewed my faith in infusion, nurses and their ability to do their job effectively with kindness and respect. And I have difficult veins, and they always do an excellent job. They donโt pressure me into getting a port, which the previous place always did, and I feel like Iโm getting top-notch care here. The infusion chairs are comfy and the room temperature always seems to be good(but they will also give you a blanket if you want it ). I highly recommend it. iโve also had no issues with their billing department or their scheduling department. They seem to be very on top of that as well, and they will call you to check in with you to make sure that you have the appointment time you need. Iโve worked in a lot of different office, environments myself, and I can tell they take good care of their, From the top to the bottom. Thatโs always a good sign when you go to a doctors office.

4 months agoMy recent experiences with the Rockville office of your healthcare facility. As a patient with sickle cell disease who occasionally experiences pain crises, I rely on effective pain management strategies to help me cope during these challenging times. In the past, I have been able to receive necessary narcotics, such as oxycodone, either through my doctor or by visiting the emergency room when needed. However, I have encountered several issues that have significantly impacted my care and overall experience. Firstly, I have scheduled follow-up appointments twice, only to have them canceled and rescheduled multiple times. This inconsistency has made it difficult for me to receive the continuous care and support I need to manage my condition effectively. Moreover, I find the check-in appointments at your facility to be somewhat lacking in proactive care and testing. In the past, my previous doctor would run tests for various aspects of my health, such as my eyes, heart, and other relevant areas to monitor my condition and ensure early intervention when necessary. These proactive measures not only helped in managing my sickle cell disease effectively but also provided me with a sense of security and confidence in my healthcare. Additionally, the expectation that I always go to the emergency room for pain management is unacceptable. Per the nurse advice from my recent crisis April 2024.As a Black American, I am acutely aware of the biases and stereotypes that exist around pain management, with Black individuals often unfairly labeled as "drug seekers" rather than being treated with the compassion and understanding they deserve. This bias can result in delays in receiving appropriate care and can exacerbate the challenges faced by individuals with sickle cell disease during pain crises. Furthermore, the financial burden of frequent emergency room visits for ongoing care is significant and unsustainable for many patients, including myself. The last time I was prescribed narcotics was in April 2023, and as these crises are not a reoccurrence but rather a symptom of my sickle cell; it is crucial that I have access to appropriate pain management when needed to avoid unnecessary suffering and complications. I believe that by addressing these issues, including the biases faced by Black Americans in healthcare settings, and implementing more patient-centered and proactive approaches to pain management, care coordination, and testing during check-in appointments, your healthcare facility can better serve patients with sickle cell disease and improve their overall quality of life. Thank you for your attention to these concerns. I hope that my feedback will be taken into consideration as you work towards enhancing the care and support provided to patients like myself.

a month agoThis team is by far the worst. Not only did I have to wait for several months for them to contact me after speaking with a supervisor, Vanessa. They dropped the ball completely in my care, from the receptionist, supervisor, office manager and the provider. Staff here is extremely unprofessional and could careless about your health. They are more worried to get out on time on a Friday, that they are willing to cut your treatment in half so they can leave at their designated time. Thank god, like the staff member Yanet/Janet, stated about my health, "its only a iron infusion, why is she making a big deal about it." This individual has been the most rudest and unprofessional in literally everything, was hired to do a job of customer service but is horrible at it. Doesn't even know how to answer her phone. Maryland Oncology Hematology, I hope you hire more competent employees.
