Masjid Al-Malik was established in 1973 by a few Muslim families in Orlando and the surrounding Central Florida area, intending initially to secure a place to pray together as a community. Little did this handful group of pioneers realize they were actually laying the foundation for the largest and most diverse community of Muslims in Central Florida.

By the early 1980s, the families acquired property on Goldenrod Road with a small house on it. This house served as the first unofficial Masjid while a new building was in the initial stages of construction on the same property. With the blessings of God and the contributions of the humble and growing community, brick by brick the first official Masjid in Central Florida was eventually built around 1985. As the community started to grow and waited patiently for the new building to be constructed, the blessed shade of a large oak tree in front of the house served as additional space for the community to perform congregational prayers and Eid celebrations under.

Unfortunately It is a business place to collect donations under Godโ€™s name I Hate it when I am in a place called house of God and I only hear and being asked to donate. Not just once even if you did it they will ask you in many different ways to donate again and again and again. ($1000) is a big money to ask people to donate!!!

This is hands down my FAVORITE mesjid in the Orlando-ish area, but I have one complaint and Iโ€™m only discussing it here because Iโ€™ve tried to discuss it with the imam a few times at this point. This mosque doesnโ€™t like having young kids in the womenโ€™s section during khutbahs, which is fair. However, there is an entire kids room with toys in it that remains LOCKED and unused-even during Ramadan. As a result, I was only able to visit the mesjid 2x during last Ramadan and Iโ€™ve gone to ONE Jummah prayer since I moved. As a revert, this is extremely disappointing. The Sahaba didnโ€™t prevent their wives from visiting the mesjid. Iโ€™d like this issue resolved. If the room can be opened up, I can go to Quran classes and prayers. I hope this issue is resolved soon. Letโ€™s teach kids to enjoy the mesjid from a young age. Not to mention the prophet saw didnโ€™t discourage kids from playing in the mesjid.

Very beautiful mosque, with an incredible Imam and management. Close to UCF which is good for all Muslim students around. Absolutely love the new mosque, a must visit!!

This is such a beautiful masjid with a welcoming & diverse community! It is incredibly spacious & has many resources. They host Iftars & other events, that are open to everyone. I've been twice, once for a visiting lecturer and for Ramadan Iftar.
