2 weeks agoWhen an elderly person come to the hospital for fainting, the first course of action should be to look for signs of dehydration. My elderly mom came to Franklin Square by ambo because she fainted in the morning. When I came to the ER, she was loopy and dehydrated. Instead of looking at her past history of the same, the staff chose to not give her any food or water for four hours. (In case of imaging.) I let them know of her past history of not eating and drinking enough. I had to ask for food for her around 4pm. She had been admitted at 10am and had nothing to eat or drink all day. In the ER room, the monitor was constantly going off and beeping and my mom kept asking me if she was OK. I was told the machines beep if any of the others in the ER have issues and so the nurses (who are multi-tasking) can see what other patients conditions are. This is just insane. Her monitor constantly beeped for hours. She was kept overnight for observation. The next day, we had to wait until 3pm for her to be discharged even though she was fine by this time. The docs were great but this place is overcrowded and does not seem to have knowledge of treating the elderly. Pluses here: Free and ample parking. This is a teaching hospital with residents following seasoned docs. The room my mom was in was nice.

a month agoThe staff was excellent and I received quality care. The doctors and nurses were very informative on all procedures. I was promptly taken on my appointment time. I like how the appointment times are setup. I was the only one in the waiting room. It helps keep people safe from germs.

2 weeks agoDr. Lisle is a great surgeon and doctor. He is the reason why I gave Medstar Franklin Square stars. Otherwise, the service after recovery is lacking. If I could leave and go to another hospital for recovery I would. Ring your bell and it takes over an hour to get someone to check on you. They speak to you as if you're stupid and you have to strongly advocate for what you know about your body. Stay away from the 3rd floor. It's the worst floor to receive care and everyone knows that. Don't bother asking for the charge nurse. They won't come.

3 weeks agoThe care I continue to receive at the Wound Center is exceptional. Dr Seo is caring and thorough. He listens to me and clearly shares the care plan with me. The nursing staff is professional and compassionate. All needs are met by them and they provide both proactive and quality care. Highly recommended!!

3 weeks agoThe Drs and nurses were extremely polite and helpful. I would ask them a question and if they didn't know they would find out the answer. I was well taken care of and feel so much better since I've been home. Thank you MedStar Team.
