This restaurant thinks they can charge NYC prices in Tarrytown. The duck confit was meh. No flavor. A wet leaf on the plate next to the sandwich said a lot. The portion of crème brûlée so small. Like child’s portion for $14. Their burgers are not artisan - they are Wagyu. Wagyu is Wagyu which is delicious no matter how you dress it. The service was terrible. The waiters don’t look at you or speak to you. They are not allowed to. That sounds like a very controlling owner/boss. The bathroom was weird. Why is there a child’s desk and a privacy screen in the bathroom - which were unisex. The place is extremely dusty and clutter is everywhere. Not my idea of a “mint” restaurant at all.
It took forever to get our food.
It was nicely prepared. The child's cheese tortellini was the best. We liked the pressed sandwich and sweet potatoe fries. It's a cute spot.
Stopped in to look at the "storefront" shopping, and met the owner (I had read about the restaurant and recognized him), who shared a tastes of a couple of cheeses. We chatted a bit, and when I asked to purchase a portion of each of the cheeses that I sampled (absolutely incredible), he wrapped them up, a
you again. Besides being Michelin-recognized, this restaurant brings such a beautiful spirit.
Truly a great experience at Mint in Tarrytown. Parking is readily available in the lot across the street. If you plan on going for lunch, I’d recommend a reservation. It gets packed quickly! Pictured is the Mint Burger which was cooked perfectly. I went for a work function and others ordered great entrees like the Stuffed French Toast and Mushroom Omelette. Note that the staff is incredibly accommodating with allergies and dietary restrictions so ask your server any questions. Highly recommend desserts here. We ordered the Chocolate Cake, Pannacotta and Bread Pudding. Our last course was filled with pure silence. You’ll leave satisfied and wanting more from Mint.
I frequently dine at Mint and am always thoroughly impressed by the cuisine and the impeccable service. Menu items always serve up bold flavors and beautiful presentation. The staff is professional and attentive - ensuring that we are satisfied with our meal. They also always provide excellent recommendations when my guests and I are torn between what meal to choose on the menu. Highly recommend you check them out during your next visit to Tarrytown!
Quick tip: leave room for dessert!
