Nadwa Yono is the owner of Salon Nadwa Hair Loss Center, one of the most innovative salons.
The second youngest of nine children, Nadwa was born in Telkif, Iraq and immigrated to Michigan in 1970 at the age of seven. She became a cosmetologist at the age of eighteen and began honoring her craft at leading Detroit area salons.
Throughout the years, she has trained with the industryโs most elite schools and educators. The most influential of these masters in Nadwaโs career was the renowned Trevor Sorbie of London. In 1991, Mr. Sorbie selected Nadwa from hundreds of applicants in a nationwide search to work with him as an educator at various national shows.
Nadwaโs newest love in hair involves hair attachments, wigs, and extensions. Nadwa is among the less than 4% of hair dressers in the United States to perform these specific types of attachments and services. Nadwa has studied all over the United States and abroad for these types of attachments, wigs, and extensions.
In 1994, Nadwa pursued the American dream and founded Salone Nadwa and Day Spa. This was a 6,400 square foot full-service facility, employing forty highly skilled and educated professionals. Salone Nadwa and Day Spa grossed more than $1 million in sales in its initial first year during business and approximately $2 million by its fourth year, with revenues near $3.8 million by its fifth year.
Nadwa is frequently invited to conduct interviews for local and national media as a spokesperson for health and beauty (Good Morning America). Throughout her many years being a hairdresser, she has done the hair of multiple local celebrities, TV anchors, and Red Wing players and their wives. She also has a visible role in the community, sponsoring such organizations as Haven, Karmanos, and various cancer charities.
In addition, Nadwa was named as one of the top young business people in Michigan as part of Crainโs Detroit Business Magazineโs โ40 under 40โ for the year 2000. Nadwa resides in White Lake, Michigan and is the dedicated mother of her two sons, Brandon and Kyle

2 years agoMy daughter, who has alopecia areata, has been seeing Nadwa for hair attachment applications since she was 12 years old (so for the last 10 years). When my daughter first acquired this autoimmune condition, and had visible bald spots with progressive hair loss, I was heartbroken and knew I had to do everything I could to find a solution that would reduce the impact of this devastating condition to her mental well-being (this disorder can come with significant psychological impacts - anxiety and depression). I am thankful that I found Nadwa, who has a genuine dedication and frankly, a life's mission, to help her hair loss clients. She has creatively solved every challenge presented to her - my daughter has gone through periods of almost complete hair loss, to regrowth and bald patches to - thankfully right now - complete regrowth of her hair and no need to wear an attachment at all! The hair pieces used are high quality, and the glue used to attach the piece does not cause any skin irritation, and absolutely does NOT affect the (re)growth of hair beneath it. My daughter has gone swimming, on roller coaster rides, and lived a completely normal life without the worry of wearing a wig that will fly off or move around, as not attached in this manner. As noted, she recently experienced complete regrowth and Nadwa suggested she remove the attachment - her goal ultimately is that her clients won't need them at all! In summary, I wanted to share my experience as a mother of a long-time client and thank Nadwa (and her great assistants) for their dedicated care and commitment to my daughter - her services have really been less about hair applications, and more about ensuring the well-being and happiness of her client, my daughter.
