Traveled all the way from Chicago to visit this spot and I was very satisfied with my order. Serving portions are unbeatable for the price. You can tell the owner values quality over quantity but nonetheless excellent customer service! Thank you for giving a true NY experience ๐ค
Honestly, Oyshiโs blows all the other halal spots out the water. ALL the other carts have fake reviews Iโm sure.
This is south Asian style halal, so the flavors will be stronger and bolder.
You HAVE to try it.
small food truck planted Broadway and 32nd. the tiny cart serving up a menu of Middle Eastern styled rice platters as well as sandwiches. the cart looks clean and well-maintained, and is open from afternoon to night, and much later on Friday and Saturday nights.
solid spot for Middle Eastern styled meat over rice to-go. ordered the chicken over rice is well-seasoned. the rice is flavorful. typically i get both the white sauce & hot sauce on top. the chicken over rice is $9 + tip
the grill man is friendly and doesn't rush your food.
Why did this guy try to fight me about what I ordered? He forced me to taste it in front of him on the street when I asked why he chopped the falafel and wouldn't let it go. The dude fought me saying it was a dollar extra to pay with card, to which I accepted. Then he tried to add another dollar tip for himself without asking. I ate the food and its more cumin/turmeric than falafel. I found a random red piece of chicken in my food. I didn't even finish it. I got swindled.
Oyshi is my new favorite food truck in NYC! The food was amazing and not only that, the truck is vibrant and gives off good energy from the moment you see it. The customer service was great as well. I did not know what I wanted and someone was able to help me figure it out and I was very pleased with the selection. I will recommend this food truck to more people in the future.
