In 2007, I was visiting Morocco for the first time and I took a cab to go to Marrakech !
In route, I noticed a majestic structure with very high rise fence & huge wooden gates. People in an ornate uniforms were guarding that place. The whole structure was surrounded with Palm trees.
As we entered another city, I saw the duplicate structure with the same design and guards !
That got my curiously up and I had to ask the driver about these unique structures that we kept passing.
The driver said that these structures are the Palaces of His Majesty, the King of Morocco.
Every morning, in all different cities in Morocco, the staff working in every Palace prepare the Palace for the arrival of the king. His bed gets turned and chefs start cooking expecting his unannounced arrival. When dusk settles and His Majesty doesn’t show up, the gates get opened and all the residents get invited to enter & feast. These places are called The Palm Palaces.
This finding became our inspiration.

a month agoDinner with friends. I have patronized this establishment over the years. This was a Thursday evening. Not overcrowded. Seated in 7 minutes. Once seated given water and abandoned with our tablet menus for 12 minutes. Once orders submitted, several items were not delivered (soups), we had to ask for bread before we were served. Vegetarian meal was considered plentiful and good as were their classics. The mobile delivery is interesting but I still do not see the benefit service wise. The waitstaff non-attentive to our table after meals delivered. Overall good food, bad table service.

2 months agoThis was my first time coming here and everything about my experience was a 10/10! The atmosphere is beautiful, clean, and service was fantastic. Huda was my waitress and she was absolutely amazing! I will definitely be requesting her every time. She was so kind and checked in on us often. The food was so delicious, you canโt go wrong no matter what you order. Soooo many options! I think I found my new favorite restaurant!

3 months agoThis place exceeded my expectations. Our server, Huda, was very sweet and welcoming and made us feel right at home. She made sure we got in our correct orders and were happy with our meal. We ordered the spicy chicken shawarma, fattoush and the hummus with lamb and it was good and authentic. Not only was the service super quick but the food was fresh and the meat was tender. The lemonade and mango smoothie were nice and refreshing as well. I will also have to say, the aesthetic and vibe of the interior was very nice. Overall I enjoyed my meal and would definitely come again. Thank you Huda and thank you staff/chef ๐จโ๐ณ๐ซถ

a month agoWow! My server (introduced Abraham, but I heard others call him Abe, Abel - want to give him credit) was incredible with explaining the menu. The food came out so fast! This place is family own and MAN do they know how to entertain large crowds fast! I came in around 5:45pm on a Friday right before dinner rush, and everyone that came in after me was served just as quickly. It looked like the kitchen wasn't even phased. The BREAD! OMG THE BREAD! and the garlic butter was out of this world! It was baked right in their oven fresh (really fun to watch, ask to be close or go watch them do their thing!) And they fill a bag Togo! ๐คฏ I had the Tabulee (highest quality with quantity), Shish Tawook with potato wedges. Heavy chicken serving hot and moist cubes - how?! Everything was so incredible, it will be a staple for me to go to EVERY time I'm in Ann Arbor. I also HAD to get their freshly made juice, their power blend (beet, carrot, apple, celery) which I couldn't make the quantity for that price - unbeatable! SOOOOOOOO good! They are voted #1 in Michigan, as they should! ๐ฏ Good Karma Eat Shwarma! โค๏ธ GO, JUST GO, NOW!

2 weeks agoWe are so glad that we found the Palm Palace. Our server was absolutely wonderful. She was professional and personable, efficient and helped us find the perfect items on the menu for each one of us. (The food was very good!) A fun side note, there is also an electric cart that comes along with the server to help service with a cute screen on it. It reminded us of Rosie the maid on the old cartoon the Jetsons. It added to the efficiency of the meal and we actually really enjoyed the novelty as well as the helpful delivery of our items. The menus are iPads, one for each guest. Then you place your order with the server. It is the best digital menu that I have ever seen. It is intuitive, clear, concise The pictures are just the right size. I didn't get confused once. We all easily navigated around the digital menu. It is Well done! They must have spent a lot of time on curating the interaction and menu experience. It was very helpful in ordering. The food is very good. Very generous servings. Try the rice pudding. It is lovely. They were very very busy even though it was Monday after the lunch hour. We will go back the next time we are in town! This is definitely worth the trip out of downtown Ann Arbor. You will be so happy you tried the Palm Palace! -โค๏ธBH
