Nuha enjoyed cooking as a child in her native Palestine and always had a dream of opening a restaurant. She has lived in Texas for about 20 years and met her husband, who is also from Palestine, through a relative. Her family and friends encouraged her to open Peace Bakery & Deli.
Peace Bakery would be honored to provide our services for your next event. Each event is bespoke to your tastes and needs, to provide the best experience possible for you and your guests.

a month agoWide selection of halal food including beef and chicken shawarma. Ample parking. They have sweets too. Friendly staff. Sufficient indoor seating. Kid friendly menu as well. I would recommend visiting.

5 months ago5 stars for their desserts, 2-3 for their savory food. Sweets: The baklava and kunafeh were excellent. We got some bakalava takeaway for our friends for later, and they enjoyed it too. For about 6 pieces of baklava and one serving kunafeh, it was about $15-20, which is reasonable given how delicious they tasted. The custard kunafeh was slightly crunchy, slightly sweet with syrup drizzled on top, and just warm dessert goodness. They also had a cheese knafeh which we will try next time when we are back with a sweet tooth craving. 3 stars for the food. We got a plate each with one main (falafel, mix meats) and two halves of sides, which were served with khubooz (Arabic bread). The tabouleh was fresh and well balanced (no extra sharp flavor from the parsley) and the hummus was simple and good. The falafel were made fresh, and tasted good but the exterior was too deep fried and too shell-like rather than a barely there crunchy cover. The meats were also not very well seasoned. Overall, for a falafel/shawarma wrap/plate, we will likely not return as there are other options in the area with better offerings at similar price points. But, we will definitely be back for their authentic desserts!

3 months agoPeace Bakery & Deli in Austin is hands down my favorite restaurant of all time. This hidden gem masterfully blends traditional Middle Eastern flavors with a welcoming, family-like atmosphere that makes every visit feel special. From the first bite of their tender lamb shank to the crisp perfection of their falafel, every dish is a celebration of authenticity and quality. The portion sizes are generous, and the ingredients are always fresh. Whether youโre dining in or ordering for a special occasion, Peace Bakery never disappoints. The staffโs warmth and genuine hospitality elevate the experience even further. For anyone who appreciates exceptional Mediterranean cuisine, this place is a must-visit.

6 months agoNut Allergy - Many of the desserts have nuts, so be careful there. What I had was fine. Review is for takeout via a delivery app. We ordered two of the Beef Shawarma with a full side of coriander potatoes and a half side each of the hummus and baba ghanoush. Honestly, we would've been fine with one order. Portions = Massive. They offered me pita bread when I picked up, which was great. Value: Amazing 5/5 Taste: The hummus and baba ghanoush were great (4.5/5). The beef was okay - some tough pieces, but overall very flavorful and went great with the pita bread (4/5). Coriander Potatoes were very flavorful but could've been crispier (4/5). Service: Timely and friendly 5/5. Huge recommend for the value alone.

9 months agoThe people here are so nice and welcoming! The food was also delicious and very well priced. I got the mixed shawarma plate with 2 sides, and it could easily feed 2 people. I also got a piece of Kunafa, and while the cheese wasn't melted and stretchy like I'm use too, it was still very tasty. I took the Kunafa home to warm up the rest, and it was perfect. I also noticed they bake and sell their own bread, which was soft and delicious. Definitely will be back!
