a year agoIf I could give this place 0 stars or lower I would. I have been going to this office for 4 years and they are the laziest group of people I have ever worked with. Today was my last day with them for good. All they care about is your money. I had to call my insurance multiple times within 3 months because they said my claims were getting denied. Cigna said each and every time I called that they have everything they need. I also asked Dr. Ansari to help me out and write a note to my apartment complex confirming my mental condition and he flat said he wouldnโt do it so I had to pay an extra $120 to get it through someone else. Dr. Ansari is a very shifty and lazy psychiatrist. Not to mention theyโre only available to schedule appointments 2 days out of the week and everything is virtual. Terrible place. I highly recommend avoiding this place. They donโt care about you. All they care about is taking your money.

4 years agoI urge anyone reading this review to avoid this place at all costs. After just one appointment I could not bring myself to endure a second after experiencing how these people operate. I'm completely shocked by how unprofessional they are when it comes to their diagnosing methods and communication practices. When I first contacted this place things seemed promising. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately things got worse from there. A few days before my first appointment, I received a call from the receptionist which initially confused me. She quickly realized that she had just called me thinking I was a different patient and apologized for the mistake. I thought it rather odd, but mistakes happen and I didn't think it was that big a deal. So then I had my first appointment with Dr. Ansari via telemedicine. He was great to talk to and my initial impression was positive. But once I began experiencing side effects from one of my medications, it became clear that communicating with him between appointments was seemingly impossible. Turns out they don't monitor any communication done through their own patient portal. I know this because I received an email from their Gmail account admitting to this. They also don't monitor requests to cancel or reschedule appointments made through THEIR portal. Your only options are to call or email them, which is absurd. Why even have a patient portal if you're not going to use it? I was extremely uncomfortable sending confidential messages to their Gmail account which is not HIPAA compliant. I did not feel like internet safety and ensuring confidentiality was a priority for them. Because, why not openly discuss my mental health using an unencrypted platform that could be hacked at any moment? Lastly, I took great issue with my diagnoses. Most were accurate, but Dr. Ansari included an additional and truly random diagnosis for me into my records. It was a pediatric disorder that cannot be diagnosed in adults. Moreover, I did not have any of the symptoms. I was almost certain a mistake had been made, because it made absolutely no sense. But when I asked about it, it was indeed not a mistake. Dr. Ansari truly felt I had this pediatric disorder despite not meeting the diagnostic criteria in terms of age and reported symptoms. I found all this to be extremely problematic and just another indication that these people have a clear communication problem. Both electronically, and by coming up with arbitrary diagnoses. Maybe I was once again mistaken for another patient? Either way everything about this place made me feel uneasy. I truly question their ethics, risky communication preferences, and their concern for patient safety. Something just isn't right here, and I felt compelled to share my experience.

4 years agoDr. Syed Rizvi is such an amazing doctor. From day one he showed genuine interest in my mental health. I am so happy i found Psyc Associates of NoVa. They work around your schedule with their telemedicine appointments so you can get the same amazing care but not have to take off work. Without a doubt i would recommend Dr. Rizvi or any of the doctors in his practice to anyone needing mental health services. No other practice can compare to the level of care and convenience that they provide.
