2 weeks agoAlmost a full 8 hours when youโre not having surgery is ridiculous. Had to hold my own blood draw needle, carry my own IV around the ER LOBBY for hours and simply no effort or speed to anyone there. They were friendly at least though.

10 months agoThanks to the 6A team my week spent in the EMU (epilepsy monitoring unit) has been my best hospital stay yet. The rooms are large private rooms, they have an in suite bathroom, a window with a bench seat for guests, a recliner, flat screen TV with DVD player. For storage you have a night stand with 3 drawers and a small closet to hang clothes and bags. They also have folding chairs for additional guest The staff is hard working and dedicated and the patient to nurse ratio is 1:4 meaning call light response is on point. I never had to wait more than 3 minutes my entire time. I was admitted by Dr. Patel directly so I arrived at noon the day of admission and the team was not only prepared but was ready. The food was above average similar to a school lunch style ,with plenty of variety, and offers room service so you can call down for food or snacks from 630am-6pm. If you have guests they can have meals brought up for them as well for $10 each. The size of a meal is very good value, you get a drink entree and up to 4 sides. The nurses and staff are all well versed with mental health and when I crashed that team not only kept me safe but talked through me the entire time, even when I couldn't respond they still took time to explain what was going on and comforted me. I recommend this hospital and would return again.

2 months agoI feel that hospital could offer to refund families for parking or offer at a lower rate $4 first 15min. And $6 for an hour after they said to arrive early to pick up patient took them over 3 hrs to discharge costing me over $10 talk about extortion. The staff in most of hospital are nice but 6A seems to have an issue with treating family with respect. Some of the nurse staff great others very rude and disrespectful to family. The social worker Theresa caused more issues than help causing stress on a safe home return plan, she act3d as if her job was asking g to much from her. ICU staff and doctors great once moved to 6A staff acted like they were all recovering from long weekend very snappy at rude.

4 months agoMy personal experience of this organization is not even worth one star. Too bad zero stars are not offered here. My most current experience I was triaged right away. Talked to an Emergency Room nurse during triage said I would be the next person to see the doctor. I returned to the waiting room for one and a half hours before seeing a doctor. Had lab draws and an ultrasound both times returned to the waiting room. I sat next to a woman in the waiting room. She was harassed by another patient. She waited for a bed for eleven hours. The nurse told her she was going to a room but was given a bed by the secured entrance in the hallway a few feet away from the guy who harassed her. My nonprofessional recommendation is avoid this hospital unless you are dying.

2 months agoThis hospital is one of the best once you are in patient. Avoid if you have a true emergency. The ED is slow and the staff in triage doesn't believe you really have a problem if you aren't dripping blood. My husband is a cardiac patient with an extensive history that is in his chart here at the hospital and more than once, when he came in with chest pain he waited much too long to receive an EKG or blood drawn. Once being cared for for the staff, things improve immensly.. also, the people who work the visitor desk have a big power or ego problem... they are cranky and unfriendly, and seems intentionally SLOW.. this morning I arrived at the hospital around 7 am because my husband called and told me to come right away. I told the guy at the desk, that I was going to 6C to my husband's room.... He was quiet and then just stared at me with a cranky look and said... " aaaand, you are aware that visiting hours don't start until 8 oclock??" As IF I cared. Becuz I really WANT to be at the hospital.. just give me a sticker please. He did. But without any kind words. Without ANY words actually. Not a kind welcome. Work on that please.
