a month agoI really wanted to love this restaurant but I just couldnโt. The atmosphere was great, and the service was outstanding, but I expected more from the food based on everything I heard. The avocado mahmurra and the fried chicken were great, but the lentil nachos and the snap pea salad were complete misses.

3 weeks agoService, food, flavor, cocktails, atmosphere. All are phenomenal, easily one of the best restaurants in the Boston area. Reservations are tough to get but if you can grab a spot then itโs totally worth it. All of the food has an amazing flavor and 5-7 dishes for two people is more than enough.

3 weeks agoI really wanted to love Sarma - it's been on my list ever since the chef left Oleana to pursue her own venture here, and don't get me wrong, it's definitely a solid restaurant no doubt, but unfortunately I don't think quite on par with the hype around it as some other reviews noted. Also, extremely pricy - 5 small meze plates that did admittedly feed two people more than comfortably was $150 after tip (with one non-alcoholic beverage). Nothing we got was bad by any means, but the only dish I felt like was truly excellent and worth getting again was the cornbread. The texture was excellent, and very flavorful. Would recommend the restaurant as a whole but I think the price is a major barrier to returning regularly.

a month agoMy husband and I finally got to visit this restaurant via Amex global dining. It has been at the top of our restaurant list for a while. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. To the point: 1) Staff with subpar service. Our waiter was present to only take orders, we barely saw her during our dinner. Her service to our table and others was very very slow 2) It took 25 minutes to get our non-alcoholic drinks 3) warm gyro bread was served and by the time the hummus arrived, the bread was cold. 4) Overall, the food was OK but nothing special and that we were particularly come back for. Brussels sprouts, hummus, garlic greens, fried zucchini, gyro bread. We personally will not return to a place that lacks good service, and food just OK compared to other restaurants in the city.

2 months agoI ordered the brussel sprouts, bbq duck, pork souvlaki, and tuna taco for 2. They were all good, but not exceptional. I found all of them to be too heavily seasoned although the flavor themselves were ok. I may have expected too much as this is one of the more popular restaurants in the area. The dishes were rather expensive for the portion. Overall, I thought the restaurant was decent but hyped. Also, the restaurant charges a kitchen appreciation fee of 5%. I always found this practice to be deceptive as there is no notice of the charge prior to receiving the check. I also believe it is the duty of the owner/restaurant to fairly compensate the kitchen crew.
