in the last weekVery nice experience of middle eastern food being served with a modern twist. The service was great, food itself was really nice though somewhat on the expensive side (particularly jumbo shrimp kebabs and the kebab platter). We were given a table with high chairs near the bar which was pretty noisy on a Friday night but plan to go back on a quieter time. Much left to savor !!!

a month agoI really loved the service at SIFR. All the servers are extremely sweet and keep checking if you need anything. The food is really good too. We got the non veg mezze platter, jumbo shrimp, chicken kebab with couscous and lamb shank as main and the date cake for dessert. The platter is good, I absolutely loved the chicken kebabs and theyโre one of the best Iโve had so far. The shrimp I found was a little overpriced for just 2 pieces but tasted good. I personally didnโt like the lamb shank since i didnโt find it very flavorful. The dessert was good as well.

a month agoThe food was excellent, service was pretty good. Everything was family style and very good. Seasoned and cooked just right. The only problem is determining how much is the right amount for the table. I thought we overordered (to be safe), but ended up not having any leftovers. The waiter explained the menu well and made sure to move around the table so everyone got attention and could hear. There were a few times we were waiting for water refills or to add additional food. The cauliflower was excellent and the chicken was very nice. I enjoyed the lamb even though I normally don't like lamb. Almost forgot....skip the dessert. It wasn't great.

2 months agoFantastic middle eastern food in Chicago with great ambience and service. The restaurant is on a quieter street in the city so parking is easier. The wait staff was incredibly courteous and knowledgeable about dishes. Great option for vegetarians. We ordered the veggie platter, heart roaster cauliflower, berry rice pilaf and the date chocolate cake. All of it was amazing and tasty! Strongly recommend this place for a date night.

5 months agoLovely dining experience. Very pretty place. Nice ambiance. We sat at the bar which often we prefer, and the bartender was great. Wish I caught his name; he taught me how to make a lemon garnish for a martini. Best fluffed-up fresh pita bread ever (with the air pocketโฆ no clue how they do that). I do wish portions were greater. And the falafel, honestly, is not as good as Pita Pitaโs. But, Iโd still surely recommend for a pleasant evening out for a tasty meal and enjoyable cocktail! *Note: Please donโt serve lamb. Slaughter is bad enough, but itโs babies.
