>The Muslim Students Association at Michigan technological University, also known as MSA MTU, is a religious organization dedicated to serving Muslim students during their university careers by facilitating their religious rituals.
The Muslim Students Association has the following aims and purposes:
A. To promote friendship between Muslim Students and Michigan Tech Community.
B. To promote and enhance the true spirit of Islamic Culture and traditions through displays, seminars, food fests, etc., and active participation in Michigan Tech students community organized functions/ festivals.
C. To organize Islamic Festivals and arrange get-togethers for Muslim Students/Community and/or Michigan Tech students/faculty.
D. Arrange Workshop/seminars on the educational system and living environment/ traditions from Muslim Countries represented by Michigan Tech students and faculty.
E. To enhance the existing cooperation between the Muslim Students and Michigan Tech faculty.
My dear respected brothers and sisters, Allah “God” mentioned in the Quran sura Al Hujuraat, Aya 13 that “O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted”.
You may ask yourself this question why you are here in this part of the world, even though you may not have thought of this before. The answer is to know each other, to know one another. I would like to thank you all for supporting the Muslim Students Association at Michigan Technological University, as always this association will be the lights that help many Muslim and non-Muslim students to understand the truth of Islam and how this religion is peace.
In the MSA we understand the feeling of being far from your country, missing your beloved family. For that, one of the main goals is to support Muslim students, here in Houghton, by creating events that may make us feel that we aren’t alone, there are some people here that care about us. As Muslim, you may have some questions, some concerns about living here, MSA as always, will be here to help.
