The Peacock Mediterranean Grill is Austin Properโs ground floor restaurant and lobby bar, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as in-room dining. The menu is inspired by Mediterranean cuisine with food that is colorful, loosely plated, healthy and wholesome and geared towards sharing. In the lobby, the sprawling bar provides a full dining experience and offers a condensed food menu throughout the indoor and outdoor lounge areas. Overlooking views of Shoal Creek can be taken in from the Peacockโs patio space and the private dining room balcony.

a week agoWe went here for brunch on New Yearโs day & were not disappointed. The food is next level. GOOD authentic mediterranean flavours. They pack the punch with fragrant herbs & the food is truly seasoned to perfection. Each of our coffees were served in individual stainless steel carafes, so we could refill our own cups the moment we were ready for more. Perfect portion sizes, not too small - you get a good amount for what you pay for. The restaurant itself, along with the hotel, are captivating and beautiful. Elegant design.. we couldnโt keep our eyes off the room!! Excellent staff, super friendly quick service. Would come back here again & again if someone funded our visits ๐คฃ

3 months agoThe Peacock is truly a gem for Mediterranean cuisine! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The decor is thoughtfully designed, blending modern touches with cozy, rustic elements that capture the essence of the Mediterranean. The menu is absolutely unique, offering a creative twist on traditional Mediterranean dishes. Every plate is beautifully presented and bursting with authentic flavors. Whether you're craving classic hummus and falafel or more adventurous offerings, there's something for everyone. The service is equally top-notch. The staff are attentive, friendly, and passionate about the food they serve, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a place with amazing food, a cozy ambiance, and exceptional service, I highly recommend giving The peacock a visit. Itโs the perfect spot for a memorable meal!

4 months agoHad a very good experience on a Saturday. We landed at 2 PM and the restaurant had ample seats available. There is a cozy outdoor seating area as well. Food was good. Service and ambiance were excellent. I was looking forward to trying several items from the lunch menu but they only offer brunch selections till 4 PM during weekends which was a a big let down. The chicken, beef kebab and watermelon salad were good. The charred mushroom kebab was ok. Canโt really justify the price for the offering. There are other Mediterranean restaurants out there that serve better quality food but itโs a trade off between quality and fine dining experience. This building is called the โProperโ hotel and houses several restaurants.

6 months agoThe Peacock is the hotel restaurant for the Proper, a trendy upscale hotel on the edge of downtown. The food was excellent, on par with the best Mediterranean Austin offers; the restaurant is wrapped in light wood with glass walls, and this upscale destination still feels inviting. Paired with "forgettable" cocktails that are so smooth you forget you are drinking them. The pita was freshly baked, or so it seemed, and the food looked and tasted fresh but was still quite filling; it's a place that beckons you to keep eating. Located on the edge of the vibrant Second Street scene, this feels less like a hotel concept and more like an undiscovered jewel. The table service was impeccable; the overall quality of food, service, and atmosphere demanded a premium price, which they have.

4 months agoI went on a Saturday evening. I highly recommend booking a table in advanced. The staff were absolutely amazing. Extremely friendly, helpful, and offered suggestions for pairings. The food is a la cart/ family style. The portions are VERY big. I enjoyed the hummus with freshly made pita bread. I also had the Spring Vegetable tajine paired with a saffron rice. Everything was delicious extremely good.
