Just stopped by here to pray Maghreb. The sisters entrance is on Webster and the sisters prayer room is on the second floor. The bathroom and wudu area are exceptionally clean and the prayer space is quite ample and homey. Tv screen as well.

I was in the city a few weeks running errands with the family and stopped at this masjid to pray and was greeted by a locked door. Knocked and met the Imam who opened the door, denied entry and told me the masjid was closed until the next prayer with no regard to whether I missed the prayer or not. Conversation: Me: (ASA) is the masjid closed? Imam: Yes its closed until Maghrib athan Me: am I able to make wudhu and pray asr, maghrib isnt for another couple hours Imam: No. You can come back at the maghrib athan. Me: but Iโ€™ll miss asr prayer, is there no way for me to pray here. Imam: the masjid is closed until maghrib. At the time I didnโ€™t know this was the Imam. No mention of this being a security issue, no courtesy and no consideration. This is a masjid Iโ€™ve stopped would frequent in the past if I was in the city but now I avoid it. Alhamdulillah there are other masjids in the city with open doors, just not this one.

Mosque is the house of Allah there should be no discrimination! I am a Shia Muslim and I was praying in masjid after salaat I was approached by a young man who told me that I am not welcome here so donโ€™t come here anymore and even imam made a gesture and shook his head saying donโ€™t come here anymore Tell me is this the way to treat another muslim? May Allah give us strength to be true follower of PROPHET MUHAMMAD ๏ทบ
