a week agoHad the best experience with UMMC ER, peds and on call dental team! Took our 4 yo to the ER on Labor Day weekend for severe hemifacial swelling. From the start the nurses and techs were very helpful and then when the doctors came, they were quick to diagnose and consult with the dental team on call. We were admitted overnight and I could not appreciate the patient care on peds floor enough! They did everything to make our son comfortable and went above and beyond that we parents were comfortable too! Despite the unfortunate circumstances, we had a very pleasant experience; our son has literally been begging us to take him back to โDoctorsโ Hotel!โ So grateful to UMMC and all the doctors, nurses and techs that helped our son!

3 months agoI went into the pediatrics emergency room, I waited less then 15 minutes to be seen. My son ended up getting admitted onto the pediatrics floor for 4 days and I couldn't of asked for better care. Everyone was so attentive and all the tests were done shortly after being mentioned. There wasn't wait time for really anything and everyone was so nice. I feel like the doctor was truly invested in my sons case and really thought long and hard about the medical decisions made about his course of treatment and always kept me involved. Being a breastfeeding mother I received a free meal 3 times a day and was brought ice water whenever I asked.

2 weeks agoI had to come here due to a tooth infection that went to my jaw and I needed surgery. I was so scared but the staff was amazing! They made me feel so much more comfortable and they were just was so sweet and caring. They made sure I understood every step of the process. And answered any questions I had, in a way I could understand.

in the last weekthis hellish, demonic hospital deserves no accolades whatsoever. Places such as these convince me that the U.S and other 1st world countries still have a lot of advancement to do when it comes to Healthcare facilities and medical treatment. I was transferred from the ER into UMMC's child and adolescent psychiatric unit. For 8 days, I endured severe bullying, torture, neglect, assault, and vicious berating from workers and fellow patients. My needs were being ignored, in such a place where needs of the patients should be valued first and catered to. My head was slammed against the wall by another patient, while my one-on-one companion was sitting right next to me. It didn't stop there. You'd think with all the security and workers it couldn't happen a second time. Well, this hospital believes in 3rds time the charm. It happened the second time with a patient, and the third and last time with a worker. I was discharged with bruises and injuries all over my body. I entered there for help, and I received shame and hatred. It induced and convinced the suicidal thoughts I frequently had that they were true in their rationale. If your child is being taken to a hospital for suicidal ideation, let this place be the LAST option. The only okay thing here were the doctors, but the potential abuse they can leave with would override any treatment they receive from here.

3 weeks agoMy experience at UMD medical center was pretty good, but my NP Philip Jackson made it even better. He was very knowledgeable, compassionate and caring. He listened to my concerns, he heard me, and I didnโt feel like just a number. If you get him, you are very lucky! Iโd go back just because of Phil. Give that man a raise! He is one in a million and an amazing asset to the team.
