The restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They have an additional location at 176 Atlantic Avenue which is located in downtown Brooklyn. They serve food from the country of Yemen. Yemen is a small country in the Middle East. The food is similar to Mediterranean cuisine. I ordered the chicken glaba which consisted of minced chicken, root vegetables sauteed with rice. It was accompanied with a large bread similar to a pita bread with a small side salad and a small cup of marag soup. The soup a lamb broth with minced onions and mixed Yemeni spices. Very generous portion and food was tasty. Friendly and helpful staff.
This place was recommended to me by my friend who is native to Egypt.
When he first brought me here, I felt like I was family.

You can only find a place like this outside of America.
If you are looking for the most authentic and real food experience for Hala and other types of dishes.
This is the place you have to go.
We stopped by for lunch, and the food was great. It's home-cooked style and very authentic. The food did not disappoint. We had Chicken Gabla, Kibdah (lamb liver), and their signature dish Lamb Haneeth. The chicken in Chicken Gabla was a bit dry, but the rest of the food was great. They also offer tea at no additional cost.
The service is quick. Your food comes really fast, which is a plus. The only thing that was a bit disappointing is that they have a sign on the door that says if you pay cash, you get a 3.8% discount off your bill. We offered to pay in cash, but they did not take the 3.8% off the bill. They add a 4% operating fee to every bill, so we just paid with a credit card instead.
This area is very busy on weekends, and it could be difficult to find parking, so plan accordingly if you intend to visit this location.
No frills place with hearty food and huge portions. We sat down and weโre immediately served amazing homemade bread and a rich broth. We had the lamb haneeth, which was enough for two people and leftovers. Friendly service. I will be back to try more.
