Zayna Mediterranean Restaurant

This was my second visit here and the food was as good as I remembered. We ordered the gyro entre and vegetarian plate. Plus hummus for appetizer, can't have enough of a good thing. Ingredients were fresh and my companions really loved the gyro meat, it was enough that they could take home leftovers for next day. Grape leaves were lemony but a bit on the small side but very tasty. The only not so good item was the za'atar pita, a bit dry and I didn't much like the flavor. Service was great, we hit it at the time between when lunch ends and dinner starts so not very busy. Our server was friendly and on top of our refills. Still a great stop for Greek food.

Post meridiem, running errands, feeling a bit peckish, wanting something… maybe Greek or Turkish or… and then I remembered Zayna. It’s been awhile! As best I recall, the last time I ate there, they were located in the shopping plaza at Tanque Verde & Catalina Hwy, around where Le Buzz resides — That would have been back around 2005 or 2006! Well, after all these years, happy to report the food is still delicious and fresh, the Lamb Kefta Pita total satisfaction.

Always so fresh and I always take home enough for another meal. The chicken shawarma plate is my favorite! The restaurant is clean and take out is easy. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My friend has dietary restrictions and our server was helpful and knew ingredients and made suggestions.

We went here at the recommendation of a local fiend. The prices are reasonable but decor is very spartan and the food was just OK. It was not bad food but also not delicious or amazing. Perhaps it was just what we ordered or that I had high expectations but I would not be in a hurry to return…

We came with an open mind as it was our first visit. The staff was super friendly, service was prompt and friendly. The food was fantastic! We had a shawarma plate and a grilled mix plate and it was all fantastic! We will definitely be coming back!
